  Suggestion: Suicide Hot-key [Fixed: Beta4]

Vern, could you create a <blockquote>suicide</blockquote> hot-key for this new game? As annoying as stucks are, and despite the fact that they *shouldn't* be present, they occasionally do happen.<br />

It would be nice to have a way of voluntarily killing Jack so you can restart a room (so long as you haven't suspended/resumed). This way you don't have to go all the way back to the last save point.  It seems like a low-impact change.<br />

I'm in favor of CMD-S Wink<br />
<br />
And... in case it comes up. I am in favor of this button costing a life to use, because there's a small potential for <blockquote>speed run</blockquote> abuse. Losing a life like this will probably still provoke someone to report the <blockquote>stuck</blockquote> scenario. Most stucks will then become half-stucks, which are a little less annoying.

Jack forgot to get the second red key he needs to go below, and he can't get back to get it because he can't reach any of the levers to change the gold/silver blocks.

  Beta 3 - Hint House

<strong>Starting room</strong> - Jack's starting position has changed from Beta2. In Beta2, Jack started out on the lower level, to the left of the coins indicating he should go right. <br />

I'm guessing this happened accidentally while doing maintenance.

  Beta 3 - Fullscreen hides sides of room [Fixed Beta3b?]

I was testing to see if the fixes affected slowdown bug one way or the other, and I picked Falcon Manor Easy. I didn't notice it immediately, but something seemed wrong (aside from the Eye Candy issues in the first room, Vern).<br />
<br />
What caught my eye was that the spider web sprite on the upper left side of the room appeared to be extending beyond the borders of the room - this was my initial impression. Then I realized it wasn't - the sides were being hidden. Jack can also work <blockquote>off screen</blockquote> into the blacked out areas. So the sprites are still rendered correctly, but the tiles aren't. Seeing is believing, so I've attached a pic.<br />

  Beta 3 - The Great Escape (EASY)

Hey,<br />

Played the Great Escape on Easy with... 55% secrets (sigh), so here's the bugs I have found so far:<br />
<br />
16309 - In here the vine is slightly cut off at the bottom causing difficulties when climbing, Jack would need to jump to the side then quickly fall back onto the vine to get back on<br />
<br />
15308 - I notice there seems to be a bit of a slowdown in this room but when you collect a few coins from it it seems to speed up again<br />
<br />
That's what I got so far, I think I forgot to note down a few others so I'll play through it again later and come back Smile<br />

  Beta 3 - Shadow Moving Off-Screen

With the light that surrounds Jack, I notice that it will move with him if he dies off-screen showing the corners of that area. It's really hard to explain so I have added a screenshot showing what I mean<br />

  New Enemy

I just had a great idea for a new enemy<br />
<br />
I was thinking that there's a small grave with a tombstone placed in a room and after a delay/proximity/switch a zombie would crawl out of it. I was thinking it could be similar to the skeleton with the movement and settings.<br />

So what do you guys think?<br />

  Beta 3 - Fullscreen Switching

With switching to Fullscreen, it kinda goes crazy as in it goes white then black a few times, I know that this is intended to help with slowdowns (which doesn't work) but it an be a bit disorientating for the player, especially if some players change the view mode in the middle of gameplay<br />
<br />
I would recommend putting Ep. 1 or Ep. 2 on the game icons so that if the player puts the game in the dock, they can easily tell which one is episode 1 and which one is Episode 2.<br />

I would just like to say that it seems that everyone is doing a great job so far, especially Vern who has done a very good job making the game Smile

When you first run Episode 2, you should get a message telling you it has detected Episode 1, and now you can access the entire game from *either* copy. Please make sure this works.<br />

- Fixed Command-H while fullscreen to minimize properly.<br />
- <blockquote>Open Replay…</blockquote> and <blockquote>Start Recording Movie</blockquote> menu items are now dimmed out when they can't be used. <br />
- <blockquote>Start Recording Replay</blockquote> has been implemented. It now also changes its text to <blockquote>Stop Recording Replay</blockquote> when recording is currently in progress.<br />
- Fixed bug where you'd have to click twice on the High Score screen button for it to work, after beating a mansion and entering a high score.<br />
- Fixed bug where, after getting a lantern, doors in the same room still wouldn't be visible.<br />

When looking at the map it doesn't show which of the grey doors that are opened!!! The same goes for turned off zapper beams.<br />
