  Beta 3 - weird screen after finishing a mansion

This has happened 3 times. I'll finish a mansion, get the screen that tells me money, percentage of secrets, etc. Then when I click the mouse to exit that screen, I get what's in the pic. But then when I click again, it goes back to normal and I get the submit high score dialog box.<br />

Ended up with an extra green key. Got 100% secrets and didn't see a green door left anywhere on the map.

I was just wondering if anyone knew what the option on a fake brick-switch Move Torch Flame Forwards/Backwards does. I tried it out as my next mansion uses torches so I was just seeing what I could do with them, but when I step on the switch, the torch does nothing.<br />

Finally got to this last mansion and really enjoyed them all but am now in room? 26475 and am in need of red and green keys, Have tried to see where I missed using the map but have been unable to see them my impaired vision may explain that. I would really appreciated any clues that can be provided without giving the store away. Smile

For any experiencing slowdowns when fullscreen: can you please try this?<br />

Go fullscreen (or startup fullscreen), make sure it's performing badly, and then try pushing Command-G. Maybe try pushing it several times. You'll hear a system beep, but it'll briefly pause the game (half a second or so) if you do it mid-game. This is how you know it's doing something.<br />

Anyway, I'm curious if this helps <blockquote>fix</blockquote> the slowdown problem. This does everything that toggling windowed -> fullscreen does, minus the actual toggle itself. Who knows, maybe it's not the toggle that fixes it, but something in this bit of code? Worth trying at least.

I went through and have a couple comments:<br />
<br />
15092 - A bit difficult with the red bird here. Perhaps simply a blue bird instead? I had to use a shield. Is that the intention?<br />
<br />
15093 - Coming in on the top left, there wasn't enough reaction space/time and I fell over the edge there. Perhaps an extra block to be put there to ensure you'd fall onto the vine instead of death.<br />
<br />
15296 - Eyeball bounces too high for easy, it seemed. Rather scary for easy players?<br />
<br />
15297 - This puzzle was interesting, I had no idea at first. I initially thought that there was a mistake and you were meant to have a conveyor belt in there but you forgot to put it in, then I realized there was one. Then I later found the sign with the hintful poetry. Tongue Rather interesting. I would suggest making at least the conveyor belt visible or something, some players playing easy may have no idea what to do, as I did for a couple minutes.<br />
<br />
15693 - You do realize you can use the broken ladder on the right to skip a whole section? Tongue By using that nifty ladder-jump trick, I managed to skip it. I would suggest making the ladder a different layer so it isn't climbable or simply removing it.<br />
<br />
15695 - Platforms seemed too hard for easy here.<br />
<br />
15700 - Zapper beams seemed a bit difficult with all the vine jumping action.<br />
<br />
15901 - You can jump to the bottom right from the falling platform, causing a jack stuck. Well, you can jump back up, but you can also jump through into the room to the right and die. <br />
<br />
Other than that, the last section with the gold seemed rather flawless I found and was quite fun, and I always knew where to go next by using my handy old map.<br />
<br />
I finished in about 36 minutes with 75% of the secrets. That's a good length and percent for a first time run through.

15509 Jack stuck<br />
<br />
Jack came to this room from below, but instead of heading right to get the blue key, he jumped up to the level above and had to go left into 15508 (he can walk that way, but can't get back once he's in 15508 - but it wouldn't matter, he can't jump safely off the ledge in 15509). <br />
<br />
Once he goes into 15508, he can do that section but ends up behind the green door without a green key, in that main room below with the 6 colored doors.<br />
<br />
I'm playing NORMAL right now, but this situation probably exists in all levels?

I'm blocked in the section you can see in the picture: Jack jump from the ladder to the right (see red arrow) and now he can't return in the upper part of the mansion...

  Suggestion: Suicide Hot-key [Fixed: Beta4]

Vern, could you create a <blockquote>suicide</blockquote> hot-key for this new game? As annoying as stucks are, and despite the fact that they *shouldn't* be present, they occasionally do happen.<br />
<br />
It would be nice to have a way of voluntarily killing Jack so you can restart a room (so long as you haven't suspended/resumed). This way you don't have to go all the way back to the last save point.  It seems like a low-impact change.<br />
<br />
I'm in favor of CMD-S Wink<br />
<br />
And... in case it comes up. I am in favor of this button costing a life to use, because there's a small potential for <blockquote>speed run</blockquote> abuse. Losing a life like this will probably still provoke someone to report the <blockquote>stuck</blockquote> scenario. Most stucks will then become half-stucks, which are a little less annoying.
