New Enemy - triforceguy1 - 07-08-2011

Hey,

I just had a great idea for a new enemy

I was thinking that there's a small grave with a tombstone placed in a room and after a delay/proximity/switch a zombie would crawl out of it. I was thinking it could be similar to the skeleton with the movement and settings.

So what do you guys think?

Aside from graphics, how would this be different from a skeleton?

Re: New Enemy - RobSeegel - 07-09-2011

It would be tough to do, but I think a small blob would be a good new enemy. It would be different. It's moves:

  • It could climb walls, and sides of the room
  • It could climb upside down, underneath ledges
  • If it came to the edge of the room, it will turn around
  • It needs a layer 4 surface to walk on.
There might be two varieties: one that's wanders aimlessly, and one that slowly tracks Jack. Animating it might be tricky...

I had an idea for one of my mansions to have a skeleton hidden behind some tiles to pose as a grave but then I remembered that skeletons can only move left and right but not up or down (unless falling), so I guess zombies could use ladders like trolls but would try to follow you

Ooh, that sounds good Big Grin

I was thinking another good enemy could be a different variation of the skeleton fish.

I was thinking that this one could jump in a curve, kinda like the CheepCheeps in Super Mario Bros.

Yeah Rob, the blog is similar to the
spark balls
in the Metroid series of games that move on all surfaces of a wall. It's on the ideas list, if I ever get to do a MM3. :-)
