I know I briefly touched upon this earlier but it's always good to split things up separately<br />

Anyway, I was going to view some of my replays which work well however, the system acts like you have never jumped during the level. <br />

I'm currently going through one of the new mansions, Tomb of Princes, and I already have a couple of notes<br />
<br />
14895 - I feel that the small area closed of by the grey door in the top let-hand corner of the room should be a bit wider as it is almost impossible pulling the lever without the scorpion killing you, it just needs to be a tile wider but then again it's my opinion<br />
<br />

15297 - Here, the framerate dropped from 61fps (windowed mode) all the way down to 33fps, I would recommend taking a look at that room. However, I've seen room that have much more object in them than this one and they don't lag.<br />
<br />
<strong>Frame rate reports have been noted, but as far as I know, no action has been taken on them.</strong><br />
<br />
15298 - There are two things I think that need to be changed in this room<br />
<br />
             1 - I think a bit more should be added to the background here (such as darker BG tiles or a BG image) it just seems a bit empty<br />
<br />

<br />
             2 - if you stay on either of the first few falling platforms, you'll safely travel to the room underneath as there is a platform right at the top. I don't know if this is intended, but if not, I would add some lava at the bottom of 15298 or make the platform in 15498 lower so Jack would die if he fell down<br />
<br />
<strong>This was not addressed in Beta3, and is a pretty big issue. If Jack is allowed to survive this fall, then that's a pretty *huge* shortcut through the mansion. I sent a msg to Jacob about it.</strong><br />

15299 - Same emptiness as 15298<br />

Hey,<br />

Just finished Nightmare Mansion Easy with 80% secrets so I haven't looked at every part (accidentally missed out a whole section)<br />
<br />
Anyway, I noticed that in rooms 17099 and 17100, the framerate dropped to about 44fps for a couple of seconds in Windowed Mode<br />
<br />
Just thought it was strange that it was just those two rooms and no other room, it's probably just my computer though<br />

  Beta 2: Hint House Comments [Closed]

<strong>16702</strong> - Consider moving the sign apart from the lever, possibly on the left side, and the lever on the right side of the platform they're on.<br />

While it is (barely) possible to read the sign after you've pulled the lever, it's not very easy. Jack ends up trying to pull the lever which can only be pulled once instead of reading the sign. <br />
<br />
Incidentally, was this meant to be a sign and not a tip? As messages go, it was very short. There was a much better candidate for a sign in room <strong>16503</strong>. This message (in 16503) would have been a perfect example of an earlier recommendation I made.<br />
<br />
The lever might have been positioned between the ladder and grey door, with a tip waiting at the bottom of the ladder including only the short first sentence of the current tip. The remainder of that message could be put into the sign, and positioned just to the left of the ladder. You get a quick tip telling the player that the lever can be interacted with, and then a longer message (on an easily readable background) that gives the player an idea on why they would want to.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update: </strong> Also, you could leave everything where it is and make the message a tip instead. That's what this originally was so there was no issue, since seeing the message was not connected to the action key.<br />
<br />
<strong>Fixed:</strong> 16702 was made a tip, and in 16503 the tip was split with more of the explanation going into a sign instead.

  Beta 2 - Spider Glitch [Fixed: Beta2b]

I know this is a very small detail, but it's always worth it to post about it.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I was playing Falcon Manor Easy When I noticed in room 17897, the Spider was not acting properly, it would just bob in one place for a few seconds then it would suddenly go up a bit.<br />
<br />
I've attached a movie showing exactly what happened, I was going to post the replay, but for some reason, the replays do not execute the jumps, so Jack would just stay in the smae room the whole time<br />

  Beta 2 - Abort Music Failure (closed, non-issue)

Hey,<br />

I notice that after I Abort or Suspend a mansion, the Music to the Main menu would stop but the Music option was on. I keep toggling that option to see If I could get the music working again but it doesn't work. However, after I go to the map screen the music starts up again<br />

I've tried everything that Vern has said but I am still experiencing slowdowns at 19fps. However, this time it's all the time, not at random sessions. I've tried both the no fps and double fps cheats and in windowed mode it goes up to about 122fps (double) and up to 210 (no fps) however, it still stays at 19fps on fullscreen with both cheats.<br />

It's not allowing me to resize the window either, I'll drag the corner and it will snap back to place<br />

This version fixes all reported problems except 2:<br />

1) Semi Native: try running this, and after clicking on a mansion that doesn't work, open up <blockquote>Console</blockquote>. It's in your Applications / Utilities folder. Choose <blockquote>Open Console Log</blockquote> from the File menu if no logs are visible. Find the log that Midnight Mansion just created. Send it to me. It'll help me figure out what's going on.<br />
<br />
If you can't find the correct log, just click on <blockquote>Console Messages</blockquote> and select and copy the entire thing. Email that to me. (vern AT actionsoft DOT com)<br />
<br />
2) For fullscreen, please start up in windowed mode OR switch to windowed after startup, then switch to fullscreen. The game will use a resolution of 1024x768, instead of the maximum available on the display. Let me know if this performs better, for those of you having problems with fullscreen speed.<br />

  Beta1: Menu screen text vanished! [Fixed: Beta2]

I'm trying to repeat this - it was very weird, and the first time I saw anything like it. I was in one of the mansions, and I aborted the game, when the title screen came up there was no text visible at all - just the artwork. The areas on the screen you would <blockquote>press</blockquote> still worked, though. I started another mansion, then tried to abort again. This time all the text was displayed correctly.<br />

I was able to reproduce it once. I went to Knight Mansion easy (chosen at random), wandered into 2-3 rooms, then aborted the game. While waiting for the title screen, I idly clicked on the loading screen. I saw the words briefly appear, then completely disappear. Strange.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update 2:</strong> Haven't seen the issue since Beta 2, and Vern didn't include it in the list of open bugs. Assumed to be fixed.
