Beta 2: Hint House Comments [Closed]

16702 - Consider moving the sign apart from the lever, possibly on the left side, and the lever on the right side of the platform they're on.

While it is (barely) possible to read the sign after you've pulled the lever, it's not very easy. Jack ends up trying to pull the lever which can only be pulled once instead of reading the sign.

Incidentally, was this meant to be a sign and not a tip? As messages go, it was very short. There was a much better candidate for a sign in room 16503. This message (in 16503) would have been a perfect example of an earlier recommendation I made.

The lever might have been positioned between the ladder and grey door, with a tip waiting at the bottom of the ladder including only the short first sentence of the current tip. The remainder of that message could be put into the sign, and positioned just to the left of the ladder. You get a quick tip telling the player that the lever can be interacted with, and then a longer message (on an easily readable background) that gives the player an idea on why they would want to.

Update: Also, you could leave everything where it is and make the message a tip instead. That's what this originally was so there was no issue, since seeing the message was not connected to the action key.

Fixed: 16702 was made a tip, and in 16503 the tip was split with more of the explanation going into a sign instead.

16103 - Jack stuck still present in this room. It's possible to jump from the top of the vine to the upper left, where it's possible to jump into the gap where the skull is. From there, there is no way out. This is pretty easy to fix - just plug up the little space that Jack jumps to from the vine.

Update: also, it's possible for Jack to jump into the hole in the rock just to the right of the vine as he's climbing up. Suggest that it be filled in or moved a bit further out of jumping range. Whoops! Nevermind. Jack can jump *out* of that hole!

Fixed: Jack can no longer get stuck in this room.

16704 - It might be better turning this tip into sign, shortening it, or finding some way of displaying it a bit higher. Readability can be tough especially with the zapper switched on.

Fixed: message put in a sign instead. It was shortened too (I think); though it didn't have to be since it was in a sign which addressed readability concerns. The part that I found difficult was the text being displayed over the zapper stream.

16105 - wow that sign is wordy. Consider substituting

16106 - Consider filling in the hole in the upper right part of the screen or moving it. It's possible for Jack to get stuck in the hole.

Update: Not fixed in round of changes. Pushed to Beta3 thread.

16503 - The message in this room says ... Levers can do lots of things, but they can only affect the current room ...
This isn't true. The levers that change gold/silver blocks affect all the rooms where those blocks occur.

16504 - There is a potential Jack stuck in this room if you go across to the left-hand side without first going up to pull the lever that opens the grey door.

Fixed: Both issues addressed in Beta3.

Should there be a comment somewhere about using Command-D to toggle room number, secrets, etc? If there already is, sorry but I missed it.
