System: Mac OS X 10.6.8<br />
Sound card: Internal Intel High Definition Audio<br />

If 2 or more users are logged in and one of them (me) is running MM1 HD, then no sound whatsoever can be heard at other open accounts!<br />
<br />
I tried to switch between users with MM1 HD on and off. If it is on then everything is silent at other accounts. If it is off the sound is restored.

  Beta 6 - Big problem, sound is all static-y

I had some free time, so I downloaded the new beta. On launching it, however, I realized there was a problem with it straightaway. Specifically, all sound was set to a backdrop of static, which is audible at all times and is on par (volume-wise) with the music, which can still be heard. <br />

I'm running 10.5.8, PPC, PowerBook G4. Now what?

  Ladders?

Vern, did you make ANY changes in any of the ladder tiles? Freddy experimented a lot with ladders and I have found issues in House of Wonders and Bedlam regarding ladders where Jack can't climb up broken ladders. Note that this has nothing to do with the ladderjump.

  About ghost platforms

In the original MM ghost platforms (both types) were programmed to last for a specified time regardless of whether Jack went between rooms or not.<br />
In MM HD this has changed. Now the thinner platform is always off then Jack arrives a new room but the other one always turn on when Jach arrives a new room. This causes issues in many custom mansions since the builders often depended on that these platform would be on from one room to another.<br />
Vern, why did you change this and is it possible to change it back to the original settings?

  Lever on top of a save pedestal

In room 14716 in Midnight Mazes and Monsters there is a lever on top of a save pedestal. The save works but not the lever. Jack is standing on the pedestal while pulling the lever. <br />
I am sure that there are more instances like this one in custom mansions.

I had a few times when opening the grey doors in the blue area that there first wasn't any sound but I couldn't replicate it by leaving the room and come back and pull the lever again.<br />

Since I'm planning on submitting to the Mac App Store today, please post here when you try beta 6, just to let me know if it works as expected. The big questions are:<br />

- Does it launch without problems<br />
- Does it play sound effects / music without problems<br />
- Run in general as expected<br />

You don't have to test a *lot* before posting, just enough to see that it seems to be working.

I think this is finally ready for the Mac App Store. If no *major* bugs are found, this will be submitted.<br />
<br />
We will *continue* beta testing even after submission, as further minor bugs will get fixed and the ActionSoft version of the game gets prepared.<br />

Fixed in beta 6:<br />
- Fixed sound pops. PLEASE check to see if there are any new sound issues. Stereo sound panning / volume balance might be different than before. Listen to torches, snakes, etc. Do any behave not as you'd expect, in terms of volume fading away you walk away or closer?<br />
- Fixed display of characters from international keyboards in the Options dialog for setting key controls. Most international keyboards are now supported. Notable exception is Czech.<br />
- Fixed problem where the <blockquote>Midnight Mansion HD Custom Mansions</blockquote> folder wasn't being found. <br />
- Fixed lever pulling so you can jump after pulling a lever, as long as you're on solid ground or fall onto solid ground.<br />
- Fixed levers so you can't pull them when standing 1 tile above the lever.<br />
- Signs can now be read even while a tip is visible.<br />
- Your preferences in the Options dialog will be reset in beta 6. You need to specify your preferences again.<br />
- Falling platforms no longer cause moving platforms to turn around if the moving platform hits the falling platform while it's falling. IMPORTANT: big changes were made under-the-hood to accomplish this, so please test falling platforms a lot to make sure no new bugs were introduced!<br />
- Music resumes properly if you do Command-H to hide the game and come back.<br />
- Updates to lots of mansions. All mansion-specific bugs from beta 4/5 fixed.

I've no started a petition on Facebook to try and get Rare to create a new Banjo-Kazooie game without the new mechanics from Nuts&amp;Bolts. I know that it probably won't work but it will be fun to do so anyways (you never know who might be searching around the web)<br />
