Okay, so someone earlier brought up the question of why the darker medusa heads re-appear if you kill them with a shield, then come back into the room. This seemed like a bug to me (it seems that they should re-appear if killed with a flame, but should be permanently killed if you used a shield), but when I look at the source code, it turns out I *specifically* programmed it the way it is... that is, when making the game, I intentionally wanted them to re-appear, even if you used a shield to kill them. (Only if you die on the head, will it stay gone permanently.) This logic seems backwards to me now.<br />

But... that's the way the game is. And I have a feeling that changing it now would cause quite a bit of controversy. But I'm not sure. What do people think? Should the dark-green heads stay dead if you use a shield on them? I'd be in favor of such a change, but I don't know if it'd mess up certain mansions people have done. <br />

It's a very easy change to make, but just one I want feedback on first.<br />

Hi!<br />
How do you manage to do screen dumps of your results in a mansion. When I try I get the start game etc window, just as take the dump. I use Alt - Shift 4 and drag the cursor. I think the window change when I start press on the mouse. Any ideas?

Well, for those who wanted custom sprite replacement on a per-mansions basis, just like you have been able to do with tiles since 1.0.4, your request is now granted in the upcoming 1.0.8 release. :-)

I am celebrating my birthday today. And it feels like a good moment to say ... hello! 47 years now. Feels good.<br />

Why I like MM? Well, I am a former competion chess-player. So I need brain-twisting. And, how paradoxically, while computers did harm chess, my new Apple-computer leaded me two years ago to the Midnight Mansion mac-game. And do I like it!<br />

Although it doesn't work perfect, especially on the blue background, our current advice is to use YELLOW TEXT when you give remarks that could spoil playing fun.

Now there is also <span style="color: #ff9900;">Orpheus</span> which is downloadable at the <blockquote>3 Lists</blockquote>. This small mansion is the SERIOUS version of IR. And in contrary to the release of other mansions I have already now a special remark.<br />

In Midnight Mansion it is common to think in terms of secrets, dollars and reaching the exit. Well, in this mansion, I think EVERYBODY will be able to reach the finish (sooner or later ---> the lantern <GRRR>) and catch all secrets and money. But this mansion is a very nice test to see how strong you really are as a player. Target is: reach the exit with SEVEN lives left. Zero is also nice, but seven is perfect!
