Can't finish Nightmare Mansion Easy by eaglecam
I have lost countless lives trying to jump my way out and simply am at a loss how to finish this game. Is there any help, or clue for the inept?
------------------------
Re: Can't finish Nightmare Mansion Easy by brell
Hi and welcome on the boards. В You need to give us more information, like in which room you are stuck. В If you press ctrl-D you will see the room number in the top left corner.
------------------------
Re: Can't finish Nightmare Mansion Easy by eaglecam
It is room 18097 that stops me every time. I have gone in with 14 lives and end up losing them all. В There seems to be no way out. В Help!!
------------------------
Re: Can't finish Nightmare Mansion Easy by Semi-Native
Hi eaglecam,What is it that you're trying to do? Getting the yellow key should be pretty easy, and to get to the bottom of the room, you have to approach it from the room to the right of 18097.

JS in Chateau Towers Hard by rose
Hi!Found a Jack Stuck in 14099! He has pulled the lveler on the right and walked back to the left and FORGOT to jump!!! Landed where you see him now standing. He will starve to his death here :'(

Chateau Towers? Cathedral of Medusa? В You could have posted the picture in the Quiz... I would have sworn I never went there!

Hehe. В This is Cathedral Towers hard.
------------------------
Re: JS in Chateau Towers Hard by rose
Guys! It is not the Quiz!!! Toybox, good to hear that it is one more who hasn't finished this mansion!!!! I have tried for 2 years but I believe I have to cheat to finish some of the hard original mansions!
------------------------
Re: JS in Chateau Towers Hard by Toybox
Oh no, I finished the mansion alright. I just couldn't for the life of me remember that room. Now I think it came back - it used to be some unaccessible part due to some misplaced Gold/Silver blocks I think, far far back in those days.

Re: JS in Chateau Towers Hard by Alan Falcon
Did someone let Vern know about this? В Because that definitely needs to be fixed.
------------------------
Re: JS in Chateau Towers Hard by brell
I guess not. В I just sent him an email.
------------------------
Re: JS in Chateau Towers Hard by Freddy
Please ask Vern to combine the fixing in Cathedral Towers Hard with the relaunching of the three new Falcon Manors. To limit the MM updates.I dare to ask that, since I know that the FMs are almost ready.

Re: JS in Chateau Towers Hard by VernJensen
The Cathedral Towers hard jack-stuck is fixed in 1.1.3, coming soon.

All secrets in normal mansions? by brell
Is it possible to get all secrets in the included normal mansions in one go? As far as I can see it is not possible in Falcon manor normal but how about the others? I am replaying the included mansions trying to get 100% secrets but if it is not possible I won't bother.
------------------------
Re: All secrets in normal mansions? by Toybox
It should always be possible to get 100% secret score in the end. It used to be impossible in various mansions because of secret miscounts (that's how people ended up with highest score 93% for example), but I think it has been fixed now.Even in Falcon Manor, where you cannot visit all rooms, the mansion's 'total amount of secrets' field should be filled by taking this into account. Say, if there are two non-overlapping ways, each of them containing 7 secrets, then the 'total amount of secrets' should be counted as 7, and not 14 (even though there are, physically, 14 secrets). Does this make any sense? And of course, if one way contains 7 secrets and the other 6, then taking the wrong way forces you to have a lower-than-perfect Secret score.
------------------------
Re: All secrets in normal mansions? by Mikee
Hmm? I have already 100% in Falcon Manor normal.

But I might be wrong about that. Of course this would all change with the update to Falcon Manor that should make it possible to visit all rooms, because then all secrets would be available, so 100% would be 14 again (in your example) instead of 7.

Re: All secrets in normal mansions? by VernJensen
It should be possible now, but this is somewhat untested. So if you find it's impossible to get 100% in a given mansion, let me know!

Re: All secrets in normal mansions? by Freddy
:'( Bad news, since the problems of the Falcon Manors are larger than only the amount of secrets. But Alan Falcon is working on it.

Chateau de Medusa Normal by Olle the Greatest
Been playing Chateau de Medusa Normal and found a strange (?) thing in room 18303.I entered, standing still at the leftmost side of the room, very close to the entrance waiting for the head to come into the big spider's reach. The skull spider killed me [got better at this now ] and I suddenly found myself in the left part of room 18302?Is this normal perhaps?
------------------------
Re: Chateau de Medusa Normal by Semi-Native
That does happen sometimes, that you get killed off and find yourself back in another room. It's not common, but it does happen.
------------------------
Re: Chateau de Medusa Normal by Alan Falcon
Yes, basically the game does not want you to come to life on top of a pit of lava or anything, so it will always move you back to your last "safe" position at the entry to a room when you die. Because you never fully entered room 18303, you were never considered fully safe in the room, so you get moved back.
------------------------
Re: Chateau de Medusa Normal by Freddy
And as far as I can recall (which is difficult in my case) it also happens when Jack enters a room, but NOT on a solid floor. E.g. silver or gold blocks, platforms, ...

Falcon Manor Easy, Normal & Hard by Freddy
When having a look at the World High Scores today, I saw that in Falcon Manor Easy it is now possible to gain $ 38.950. Before dafalcon changed some things, the maximum was $ 36.925. As far as I knew.So reason enough to play that very first mansion again. But ... I got in troubles. I am not sure yet if I am stuck or if it is a SJS (= Sir Jack Stuck).Things went well till I did slide down the pole with my rainbowkey and chose to open the left (red) door. After taking everything (?) in the left wing, I used the purple key in # 19296, took the green key and opened the green door in the same room. Because I didn't find a blue key in the left wing as before, I was glad I could continue to the right wing from below, but finally ended with having only a YELLOW key. To continue I need a GREEN or a BLUE key. Or I should be able to change the gold in silver blocks. At the right time of course.
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy by suztours
I've also just been playing through everything again - started with Falcon Manor Easy and then Normal. В And, well, I have a complaint or maybe I'm not finding which way to go properly (in Normal) В but I when I get to the second tier down (the green door is in the middle - and yes, I easily found the green key and can go back and forth there), in both rooms 18297 and 18294, there are slides down, but once you go down to the next tier, you can't come back up or go across to do the other side! I can't get everything on the right side AND on the left side - it seems to be one or t'other! В I'm not stuck; I did everything on that level, but I can't find a way to do the WHOLE mansion! В :'(suzanne
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy by Freddy
Well, it is a public secret that I never liked Falcon Manor, because it was never possible to visit the whole mansion. But, unless I am very wrong, I believe it is even worse now.To be sure, I am going to look again. NOW.
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy by suztours
We could always pounce on deFalcon : and see if he can do a little update... :o
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy by Freddy
Never knew why I kept the dmg-files from previous MM-versions. Until know. Reloaded version 1.0.4 to check what the rooms 16095 and 16296 were looking before. Watch the differences!!
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy by Freddy
1° So in the left wing was a blue key which is now gone. (Although no images of it, in the right wing was a red key which is now gone as well.) No real problem with that, except that I don't like it. Even more of the mansion can't be visited now in one walkthrough.2° But the changing of room 16296 seems to create serious problems. After opening the left purple door and taking the green key, opening the OBVIOUS green door in the same room leads in my opinion to a Sir Jack Stuck. The player is supposed to take that green key to the far left end to open the green door over there and to continue pole down. But I am still not 100 % sure. Why should dafalcon have placed that green door to give access to a small part of the right wing?
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy by suztours
And I used the green key to open the far RIGHT door at the end of the little maze section up above (with all the ladders & silver & gold blocks and gray doors)... and slid down that pole - which is another part of the problem - because when I got to the bottom of that pole, there were red & blue doors with purple keys behind them) at opposite ends and NO KEYS!This was in "normal" - doesn't sound very normal to me!suzanne
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy by Freddy
About my point1° The background word "OR" with the 2 arrows explains everything in the room at the bottom of the pole below the rainbowkey. A player is forced to go left OR right. Not funny, but however.2° After a large break I did check it again and I am very sure now that there is a Jack-stuck when a player opens the green door in room 16296. Probably independent from whether he opens the left red or the right blue door in the room mentioned above.@ suztours: Do I understand you right that in Falcon Manor Normal you chose to go right through the blue door at the OR-fork? Before going down by the right pole beyond a green door and getting into troubles.
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy by suztours
Humm - well, I'm usually pretty observant (a tour guide has to be), but frankly, when I'm playing MM, I hardly look at the background - just do a quick scan around to see what's up and I'm off.Remind me which room (number?) and I'll check...suzanne
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy by Alan / Falcon
suztours and Freddy, thanks for your playing through and taking a look at Falcon Manor Easy and indeed finding that most Cardinal of all Mansion-Building Sins, a Jack-Stuck. В My goal was to create a streamlined way to be able to experience both the Red and Blue sides of the mansion for those who want to do so, without actually forcing an observant player to do so if they choose not to. В Instead I just broke it. В An update has been sent to Vern.Freddy, take a look to some of the other changes made to Falcon Manor Easy. В I think you will find that it is now possible to visit all of the rooms in the mansion (after making allowances for my fixing of the Jack-Stuck ... which I think only affected players who chose red side then went through the green door). В Correct me if I'm wrong, Freddy, 'cause I made this change for you.Suztours, I'm not sure if I understand your comments about Falcon Manor Normal here ... I think I'm getting confused between Falcon Manor Easy and Normal. В Can you explain again what you have run into with Falcon Manor Normal?

Re: Falcon Manor Easy by Freddy

Re: Falcon Manor Easy & Normal by suztours
Alan - in Normal - in the level with rooms 18297 and 18294, I was able to do all of that, but then I had to decide which pole to slide down as I couldn't get across to do the other side of the next level. В Because there are steps to climb up in that area, if you would simply put a step (or a disappearing platform) in room 18297 (on the left side, where the pole is, it would be possible to go back up to there and across to slide down the next pole and then do the whole mansion, which would be a lot more satisfying!suzanne

Just an important note here... I'll be on a small island in the pacific, away from my mac В :'(, for the next few weeks -- В as I told Freddy, I think I know how best to make it possible for a determined player to be able to get all the gold in FME/N/H, and I'll be making those changes and sending them to Vern when I have them. Re: Falcon Manor Easy, Normal & Hard by brell
I just finished replaying FM easy. As you've said it is not possible to open the red door first in the third section and then do the blue part. It is possible the other way around, though.However.After I finished the blue and red part of section 3 and went down to the 4. section on the pole furthest to the right, I couldn't find any key to open a few doors scattered around there, each with small treasure behind it.And coming down to the next section below I couldnt find any purple key for a small treasure alcove. On the bottom with the exit there is a yellow door. I know I could have spared a yellow key but I didn't. I am not sure I like puzzles where you have to keep a key for a section you cannot see on the map when there is an opportunity to use it earlier.I finished with 92% secrets, which is not acceptable since I've got 100% before.
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy, Normal & Hard by Freddy
I know that Alan/Falcon is fully aware of the problems. He already sent an update of the easy version to Vern, but it will not be released, because he decided to rearrange all 3 versions of Falcon Manor in a way that ALL rooms and ALL money will be within reach with one walkthrough. Per mansion, of course. Would be vast improvements, I think.Let us say that there are ... works in progress.

And I know even more. There are no works in progress any more. The designer of the Falcon Manors is and will be absent for a while. ------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy, Normal & Hard by Alan Falcon
I have to bow my head low and admit that while I was going and investigating the secret sex lives of cannibals in Guam, I completely forgot about my plans to make all of Falcon Manor accessible. В :-XI see now what Suztours and others are concerned about -- I definitely created the mansions in a way that prevented players from being able to open all doors and visit all rooms, but I see where that is leading to confusion and frustration and Freddy disliking my mansion В :'( В So I have to try to really re-work all of this and at the same time make sure I don't break it again! В Is this really the only built-in mansion where it is not possible to get all the coins? I do have to mention however that I'll be getting married (yay me! В [smiley=happy.gif]) in November (on 11/11!), and only have a few hours of free time a week right now, most of which is being put towards making a website for the wedding and other wedding plans -- so this could take a while and I wouldn't suggest anyone hold their breath. Re: Falcon Manor Easy, Normal & Hard by Alan Falcon
While I don't love the idea of major changes to included mansions that are intended to do more than simply try to fix a Jack-Stuck, I do feel that the modified versions of Midnight Mansion that I have just completed are justified "upgrades" to the previously included versions of Falcon Manor. For one thing, I found one possible Jack-Stuck in Falcon Manor Hard and fixed it. For another, Freddy has been warning everyone on these boards about upcoming changes to Falcon Manor (and thus the High Scores List for Falcon Manor) for several months now. And finally, it does seem that the vast majority of you all want to be able to know that it is at least possible to open every door, collect every coin, and reach every secret in a single perfectly-played run-through of a mansion. So it is for these reasons that I would like to submit my revised mansions to review for Vern. But! Before I do, I'd greatly, greatly appreciate some beta testing from members here who would be willing to run through at least one version of the revised Falcon Manor and also have a look in the editor to see if I managed to introduce any new Jack Stucks or failed to achieve my goal of allowing everything (significant*) to be gotten in a single run-through.Please contact me on these boards though PM with your e-mail address if you are willing to test at least one version of this mansion, and I will send you the file. Once I feel that the mansions have been actually tested by someone other than just myself, I'll send them to Vern to be included in the next update of Midnight Mansion.* Due to the design of Falcon Manor, it became necessary to include one door which the player may or may not be able to open, and which only leads to a single key of a different color. Depending on a random choice you make earlier in the mansion, you may or may not have to use this door to swap your key for another colored key. There is no gold behind this door, and no secrets, so at worst you would simply have a door that remains unopened, but at no actual loss to you.
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy, Normal & Hard by Alan Falcon
This has been harder than I first imagined, and I've ended up making some relatively significant changes. В In fact, there are now new secrets in (I think) every version of Falcon Manor! В A HUGE thanks to those of you who have sent me a PM and started the testing process. :-) В Without your help, I wouldn't have been able to continue to make changes during the free block of time I had today. В New eyes are still appreciated, and if you would like to be one of the first to try what could become the "new" Falcon Manor (if Vern decides to go with it!) then please send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send you the mansions. В 8-)
------------------------
Re: Falcon Manor Easy, Normal & Hard by Alan Falcon
I appreciate the help so far, testers! В :-) В Thank you so very much!I still do need someone who would be willing and able to play through the hard version to test for Jack Stucks and provide feedback. В Post here or send me a PM and I'll get you the files to try out. В I hope to be able to get a stamp of approval on this soon to send to Vern to have ready for the next MM update!Again, thank you all! В 8-)

World high scores by Freddy
@ Vern:It is not the most important thing in the world. But I wonder if it is possible to remove all scores of a certain Denis from the lists. I can't believe that it is possible to finish any of the included mansions in 12, 8 or 5(!) minutes. These feels like a kind of hacking-work. And is not honest for the players who did it in a fair way.
------------------------
Re: World high scores by izdale
Does anyone know how it is possible to get more points? В I just finished Nightmare Mansion on Easy and I posted my score to the high score list. В 7 of the 10 people have the exact same score with 100% secrets. В The high score has almost 5,000 more points with only 60% of the secrets, and the 2nd high score has about 175 more than the rest with only 10% of the secrets!! В How did they get those other points?
------------------------
Re: World high scores by Freddy
When you check all the world high scores, you will notice several odd scores. I asked the Big Boss to remove all the impossible ones, created by hackers. It feels too unfair to players who try to get into the top ten.
------------------------
Re: World high scores by VernJensen
Part of the problem is:1) The high score lists used to be unprotected, so a couple of years ago people could easily hack it. I'm not sure if they stiill can, but obviously people like Denis can probably change their system clock or somethign like that while playing in order to mess with the elapsed time.2) Secret counts were fixed in some mansions. But old high scores weren't changed. So maybe some people had 100% secrets, but their high score only shows 88% or somethign like that.I've tried to remove the obvious offending high scores, but honestly I don't want to waste much time "policing" the high scores list. What do you think.... should the high scores be "reset" sometime, at some specific date, to give new players a chance to get on? Maybe reset once per year?

Re: World high scores by Freddy
ABSOLUTELY ... NO. :o :oIn my younger days I succeeded in arriving in the top-ten of 22 of the 24 included mansions. And to say it with brell: "must brag". I am still multiple world record holder. I don't know any sport where world records got removed each year.BUTThe weak point NOW seems to be the time. I don't know anything about manipulating computerclocks. But it made me think about the build up of the high scores. If there should come a completely new WORLD HIGH SCORES TABLE I should suggest first to take the % secrets in account, only then the dollars and third ... the lives left ?!?! Just an idea.
------------------------
Re: World high scores by izdale
See it already did no good... the player Denis has already posted new high scores on the mansions where his scores were removed from, and they are with impossible times. В Something needs to be done.

Re: World high scores by BBFMan
Thanks Mikee. My first objective was to just get in all 24 top tens, but then I got hooked on achieving as many number ones. Unfortunately, I'm struggling with a couple because the current fastest times don't appear to be possible (Knight Mansion Easy & Castle Doom Normal). Also, for the life of me, I can't see how to beat Cathedral Towers Hard top score (74275).Watch out, Brandon, I have my sights set on Knight Mansion Hard :-)BBFMan (aka Bern)

Re: World high scores by Freddy
8-) It is nice to know that there are also players who are interested in the World High Scores. Although the exploring fun is certainly more important, it gives an extra dimension to our Midnight Mansion Game. For the time being, I can't answer your question perfectly. Problem is, that there were a few original mansions where things did change. I remember a bug, a few with wrong counting of secrets and in the near future the 3 Falcon Manors will be seriously changed. And that has its consequences for the possible scores and % secrets.Keep a little bit of patience AND, please report any strange or "unbelievable' scores over here. Once in a while I have a look at those things. And I received the rights from Vern to remove troll-scores.So, I took notice of 3 mansions with problems. And I will have a look at them.

[quote author=Freddy link=/0#0 date=]@ Vern:It is not the most important thing in the world. But I wonder if it is possible to remove all scores of a certain Denis from the lists. I can't believe that it is possible to finish any of the included mansions in 12, 8 or 5(!) minutes. These feels like a kind of hacking-work. And is not honest for the players who did it in a fair way.[/quote] [smiley=angry.gif]Just a suggestion, but i think that he probably changed the mansion in the mansion editor to make easier or he's just really good.

Re: World high scores by Freddy
Hello Leon !Welcome on our boards.Yes, those world high scores! : Since a few weeks I am discussing this issue with Vern. We know how Denis is cheating, but for obvious reasons, I am not going to explain that here on the boards. :-XIt is not impossible that in (the near) future the system of those tables will change. And meanwhile, the only thing that can be done is, once in a while, remove all impossible scores. And that is what I am going to do just right now. Hope it makes you happy again. EDIT: Done. And I take note of the fact that Denis got no good scores yet in hard mansions!
------------------------
Re: World high scores by Chris
Yes, Freddy, please reactiv the Highscore-list then Denis is cheating soo much. That's really stupid. Can you stop Denis that he not can make a result on the Highscore-list?!? В

Hey Nick, are you on the High Score list? Look at me! Spider Palace Easy hahaha В

So, hehe. Spider Palace KING is back to our forums! В look at new High Score List... Easy 1. Normal 2. Hard 1. В [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] cheers!
------------------------
Re: World high scores by Alan Falcon
I really like how the Global High Scores list is first a race to see who can get all the coins and secrets, and then a race to see who can do it even faster.I just maxed out House of Baron Garneau, and was surprised and pleased to find someone beat it nearly 10 minutes faster than I did!
------------------------
Re: World high scores by aquaMat
Hi Alan, good to see you back...!Interesting that you say that. I have just re-played "House Of Baron G..." В HARD for the first time after a year or so. And while I never cared for the Global High Score Lists in the past, I was surprised to find myself directed automatically to that site by the game, once I finished HoBG HARD with 93% secrets in 65 mins. or so. (My best score so far...)Normally I don't like it at all if software is linking me automatically to the internet .... but in this case it was a nice surprise. Is that a new feature that you're automatically linked with that list, or did I just never have good enough scores in the past for that to happen...?? В В : В 8-)I remember the game used to ask in older versions, didn't it ?
------------------------
Re: World high scores by Alan Falcon
aquaMat, the game should have a checkbox when you beat a mansion asking if you would like to submit the name you enter to the Global High Scores list.HoBG is an interesting mansion to me because the original designer kind of abandoned it in a less than perfect (but mostly playable) state, and so a few of us designers picked it up to re-master it in different difficulty levels. I must admit to having played the version that I did (Normal) because (unless I'm losing it in my "old age" [smiley=birthdays.gif]) that was the one that I was tasked to re-master. It was actually a very fun experience taking someone else's layout, concepts, and puzzles and trying to improve upon them and fit them together in a more cohesive way. I'm not sure that any of our custom mansions or come from that same kind of Frankenstein's Monster DNA, but it would be an interesting experiment for a couple of willing participants.

Jack-stucks in original mansions by aquaMat
Like several other members I have replayed some of the original mansions lately (I assume we're all playing those old mansions again, due to the lack of new mansions...... aah.. the downside of this XP contest !!), especially the HARD versions and I found several points that we usually do not tolerate in custom mansions, namely Jack-stucks, several cheap deaths and (in Nightmare Mansion Hard, I guess it was) at least one further incident were it seemed not possible to finish with ALL doors opened (as you had to decide at one point to take a pole down..... ).Even if I didn't write down the mansions and exact room numbers to report these problems in detail, I mention it to show you - following the recent Knight Mansion Bug discussion - that there are indeed several other potential problems or at least "quirks" one has to deal with while playing the original mansions.A second ago I had to abort Knight Mansion Hard (somewhere after the 4th save pedestal) because I got stuck with not even suicide left as an option. Same has happened to me in Castle Doom Hard, where it happened (in that gold/silver block puzzle "maze") when I was killed directly after having pulled a gold/silver toggle lever and then reborn BEHIND gold blocks without the possibility to get out !!This also goes to show how far we have progressed in mansion design: all those things haven't been noticed by anyone during the first years of MM design...... so ultimately it's a good sign, I would say !
------------------------
Re: Jack-stucks in original mansions by VernJensen
I'd love for you to report specifics (mansion name, easy/normal/hard, and room number, and what the problem is). I don't want to have any jack-stucks, cheap deaths, or the like to exist in any of the original mansions. I will fix them if they are reported, and am grateful for the time taken to find them.
------------------------
Re: Jack-stucks in original mansions by aquaMat
Alright, Vern....I'll try to come up with as many as I can remember...but it'll take some time, as I have to go through those mansions again, either by playing or in the editor. I'll get back to you a.s.a.p. В
------------------------
Re: Jack-stucks in original mansions by Freddy
@ aquaMat: Just keep in mind that 1.0.9 fixed some things (did you play the mansions with 8 or 9?) and you don't need to check the Falcon Manors, since Alan/Falcon is going to rearrange all 3 versions.
------------------------
Re: Jack-stucks in original mansions by aquaMat
@ Freddy:I started my repeated play-throughs with 1.0.8. and the first couple of things I noticed were probably then, but I finished using 1.0.9. and at least the last one or two issues (like the "gold/silver reborn bug" I mentioned) happened in 1.0.9..Since I have to try to identify the exact room numbers etc. for Vern I will have to re-create the problems anyway, which I certainly will be doing in 1.0.9. (I'm not sure if I'll remember all issues that happened, though....!)BTW, yesterday I finished Knight Mansion Hard (in 1.0.9.) I experienced none of the problems that had been discussed a while ago - which is a good sign. However I ended up with 100 % secrets and all rooms visited (and -as far as I know of- all doors opened), but I still had 1 blue key left !!?! В Is that normal ?
------------------------
Re: Jack-stucks in original mansions by Olle the Greatest
Just played Cathedral Towers Normal, when I seem to get stuck having two red doors and a yellow, but the keys I possess are green and purple...It seems I made a mistake opening the yellow door in room 15293 instead of 15093, since behind the latter is a new yellow keySo now I can't go anywhere...Anyone seen this or is there a way out somehow?
------------------------
Re: Jack-stucks in original mansions by brell
As far as I remember you have to restart from the last saving point. В Yes, it is possible to become stuck by using your keys in the wrong order.
------------------------
Re: Jack-stucks in original mansions by Freddy
Just to know. If this is a real Jack-stuck, did anyone informed Vern about it? Because I know he is eager to correct those things asap.

A Portly Senior w/Newtoy and questions by imgonagetcha
I just started MM about two weeks ago and and have been really enjoying it. Such a pleasure compared to the "blowup everything and /or kill everybody" games that seem to be the "In thing" now a days. After having browsed thru this forum I do have a couple of questions about it; I see mention about 24 original mansions and room numbers. My version of the game has 8 mansions and I wonder how do you find room numbers and is it possible to add these other mansions, also is it possible to get 100% secrets? Please bare with me folks since I am a 76 year old computer illiterate and have finally found a game I can enjoy and it appears there is even more to it.
------------------------
Re: A Portly Senior w/Newtoy and questions by SandyBean
Hi there, Imgonagetcha, Welcome to our forum, always great to meet new members. The original 24 games are the 8 games, in easy/med/hard modes. Yes, it is possible to get 100% secrets, but it may take a bit of work, but well worth the effort. :I also agree, there are so many gory games out there, with limited player choices and movement, but once you get involved with MM, there is no turning back. ;DThe other great thing is that once you are hooked, and are feeling up to it, you can design your own custom mansions for others to play, and it is great. Especially now, since the expansion pack with over twenty new mansions will be out soon! This expansion pack also includes great new items for designing fantastic mansions, and only your imagination will be the limit! I strongly suggest once you have done the original 8 (24) mansions, you move on to the 83 Custom Mansions that individual designers have built, they are wonderful and unique. (You can find them on the forum to be downloaded under custom mansions.) To see which room you are in, simply press the 'apple key' and the D key, and you will see the room in the upper left corner of your screen.Good luck, and hope to see you again on the forums soon !!! SandyBean [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Re: A Portly Senior w/Newtoy and questions by imgonagetcha
Thank you very much for the help Sandy. Right now I have about all I can handle with the 8 (3x8=24) boy oh boy no wonder I have problems at times couldn't even see that one.

Re: A Portly Senior w/Newtoy and questions by Semi-Native
Welcome to MM, Imgonagetcha! It's great to see more older players joining in. Have fun playing. Also, when you hit Command-D, you'll see the number of secrets you've found in the lower right corner. 8-)
------------------------
Re: A Portly Senior w/Newtoy and questions by imgonagetcha
First off, I have changed my scree name as that other one was just tooooo lonnnng! Strange that you should mention the number in the lower right corner, since my next question was what that number was I am also curious as to just how many secrets there are in each mansion.MM has another addict, I was up till two this morning after starting Night Mansion. Thanks again for the education.
------------------------
Re: A Portly Senior w/Newtoy and questions by Freddy
The number shown in the upper right corner is only important for mansion builders: frames per second. You will notice that this number is constantly going (a little bit) up and down. And the closer it is to 60, the better. As a player you don't need to give it any attention.About your other question. The amount of secrets in each mansion differs. But, when you reach the exitdoor of a mansion, you'll see a "Mansion Complete"-screen that shows you the % secrets you did find. An example (of a good score in a tough custom mansion) you can see at this topic: http://www.actionsoft.com/forums/cgi-bin...7931279Now, if you know how many secrets you found and you see how much % secrets that is, you can calculate how many secrets there are to be found in the mansion you played.Btw, talking about calculating, are you sure that oletraf76 is shorter than Imgonagetcha? ;D
------------------------
Re: A Portly Senior w/Newtoy and questions by oletraf76
It may not be much shorter, but for certain apropos of.

Jack Stuck in Knight Mansion by Nick
As I was playing Knight Mansion Normal I was in room 14709 and my Jack got on to the middle moving platform and fell into room 14909. Now he's stuck.

Re: Jack Stuck in Knight Mansion by Semi-Native
Has Jack tried suicide to see where he reappears?
------------------------
Re: Jack Stuck in Knight Mansion by Wingy
Strange... Vern will have to make an update.BTW: Did anyone notice that in the red section of Falcon manor, you can avoid opening the two green doors in room 18890 by jumping from the very VERY edge in room 19090! It's crazy! Here's a screenshot from where I stood EXACTLY and pressed left and jump at the same time: (You have to stand like 1 pixel away from falling, looks fake, but you can do this)

Re: Castle Doom Easy by Mikee
as give one chance:you become that red key in this yellow section on castle doom. Then you must behold this key for the last section, then can you open this door. :o
