Transparency in 1.08
Posted by: joeb - 03-08-2007, 03:53 PM - Forum: Game Improvements - Replies (1)

Vern,

Are you going to setup transparency in the sprites the same way it's setup in the tiles? Some sprites appear to use white for transparency and some use a B/W mask while others (paintings) only seem to use a rectangular mask.

Thanks,

Doing MM&M the hard way
Posted by: brell - 03-08-2007, 12:59 PM - Forum: Midnight Mazes and Monsters - Replies (6)

The easy way through MM&M is of course to get all the prizes, which leads to plenty of Jacks which you can spend in the harder mazes.

The hard way is to take the highway only from the beginning to the exit, skipping most of the gold. I tried this but gave up in the beginning of the blue area with all the floating platforms, ladder jumps and moving platforms.

I might try it again later. But the challenge is: Can you go through MM&M taking only the highway with as little gold as possible?

 Battlestar Galactica
Posted by: joeb - 03-07-2007, 01:18 PM - Forum: Speaker's Corner - Replies (9)

Didn't know where to post this so I thought this might be a good place.

The new Battlestar Galactica tv show on the SciFi channel is running a sort of contest where you can put together a 4 minute video using BG supplied video/sounds/effects. I plan on entering a video but also using the content in a future mansion. I know space based MM aren't very popular but good content is both hard to generate and hard to find and this is a chance at some VERY cool stuff. Here's the link:
Joe, what a nice surprise on a beautifiul spring morning !!!

I immediately played it (haven't finished yet, I always die to soon... Wink) and I'm very impressed... I love it, really....
espoecially those great bits of irritating perspective (tromp d'oeuil, I guess the Frenchmen call that).... and apart from a few layer-issues I think it's very well programmed ans should definitely warrant an official reölease !!

I comment on my time after I beaten it completely !! Smile

BTW: Judged by the name...it could be part of The Mansion Family ;D Big Grin

 Great classical games
Posted by: Wingy - 03-07-2007, 01:02 AM - Forum: Speaker's Corner - Replies (51)

I still have a LC classic apple computer with Mac Os 7.3! Haven't touched it for awhile due to no monitor... but I played lots of old games like...

Gorilla warfare - Love it!
Secret of Monkey Island, - Extremly funny puzzle game
Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck's revenge, - Just a sequel (Higher rating then the first)
Farm Patrol, - A shooting game of you in a jeep avoiding holes and evil things (Don't think its avalible at the site linked below, google it or go to www.versiontracker.com)
Sim City 2000, - Fun game where you build a city from lots of money
Castles: Siege and Conquest, - Recruit men and knights ect. to fight for you to defend your castles and attack (Tip: Don't attack the pope!)
Civiliztion, - (MUST PLAY) Fun game were you advance in technology, and conquer or make peace treaties with other nations.
Siege of Dark Wood, - Fun strategy game of you defending a fort from evil
Worms, - The older version of my favorite 3D game, Worms 3D
Legend Of Kyrandia, - Very funny puzzle game, like Monkey island
Glider Series - Fun game where you fly around houses getting stars
Wolfenstein 3D, - Fun shooting game, not really 3D, because you look at a bad guy at one angle, and go to another, he looks the same
Spectre - Fun basic 3D shooting game. One of the first to ever come to mac
Sim Farm - Just another sim game

and many other classical games off of http://mac.the-underdogs.info/ - Download them all and try them!
Connecting 2nd monitor to G5
Posted by: aquaMat - 03-06-2007, 02:55 PM - Forum: Speaker's Corner - Replies (10)

Has anybody of you ever connected a 2nd monitor to an Apple PowerMac G5 (pre-Intel; Dual 2 GHz; inkl. ATI Radeon 9600).

I know that it's possible...what I do not know:

- Will there be a limit to screen resolution and / or color resolution after I connected a 2nd moniztor ?
(At the moment I'm running the main (and only) monitor with 1280 x960 (75 Hz) and 16 Mill. colors. Will I be able to keep that resolution ?)

- I plan to use the 2nd monitor as
enlarged desktop
. But what will happen, when I switch on my computer and only 1 monitor.... will the Mac
automtaically realise
that I have not switched on the second monitor on this particular day, even if it's connected..... and will it 'adjust' the desktop accordingly ?

- What happens to MM, if I have 2 monitors running ?? Will it be full-screen, but only in the main monitor ? And what is on the other screen then ?

I'll appreciate any advice, knowing that it's rather off-topic to our usual conversations in this forum. Smile

 Spider Palace Hard
Posted by: Spiak - 03-05-2007, 10:43 PM - Forum: Included Mansions - Replies (2)

Okay, I have struggled, and cheated, and finally gotten all the way through Spider Palace Hard, but I am missing one secret. I'm compiling a list of the ones I found and wondered if anyone who got 100% could look it over and give me a hint where I should be looking for the other one.
