The registraion process

Go to:

Admin - Forum Settings - Members - Registration

I propose the following changes:

1. Select the registration scheme for this forum:

Pre-registration with e-mail membership ativation (instead of open registraion)

2. Max time span for users to activate their account (in hours): 24 (is unactive now)

3. Email Random Password to New Member Upon Registration? (is unactive now)


I think these changes will keep most of the trolls out. What do you think?

Okay, now there's a message on the home page saying there is one Pre-Registered member not yet validated. What do we have to do with these?

We do nothing! If they don't respond to the e-mail the forum sent to them within 24 hours they will automatically be removed.

Perhaps we should reduce the validation time? Players that really want to register would surely respond to the e-mail within a short time.

What do you think? It is now 24 hours. Perhaps down to 10? Or even less?

I would give 24 hours. Some people may register and then not be able to get back quick enough due to work, family obligations, etc.
