The registraion process - brell - 09-12-2010 Hi. Go to: Admin - Forum Settings - Members - Registration I propose the following changes: 1. Select the registration scheme for this forum: Pre-registration with e-mail membership ativation (instead of open registraion) 2. Max time span for users to activate their account (in hours): 24 (is unactive now) 3. Email Random Password to New Member Upon Registration? (is unactive now) I think these changes will keep most of the trolls out. What do you think? Re: The registraion process - Wingy - 09-12-2010 Looks good, actually. Re: The registration process - brell - 09-12-2010 OK, I'll try it! Re: The registraion process - Semi-Native - 09-12-2010 Sounds good. Re: The registraion process - Semi-Native - 09-12-2010 Okay, now there's a message on the home page saying there is one Pre-Registered member not yet validated. What do we have to do with these? Re: The registraion process - brell - 09-12-2010 We do nothing! If they don't respond to the e-mail the forum sent to them within 24 hours they will automatically be removed. Re: The registraion process - brell - 09-12-2010 Perhaps we should reduce the validation time? Players that really want to register would surely respond to the e-mail within a short time. What do you think? It is now 24 hours. Perhaps down to 10? Or even less? Re: The registraion process - Semi-Native - 09-12-2010 I would give 24 hours. Some people may register and then not be able to get back quick enough due to work, family obligations, etc. Re: The registraion process - brell - 09-12-2010 OK. We just have to get used to: There are x Pre-Registered Members that are not yet validated. We'll see tomorrow night how this works. Re: The registraion process - brell - 09-13-2010 About one hour until the automatic deletion should start. |
