Here's Jack, stuck....

There's a trigger or lever in the bricks below Jack. It makes a noise but doesn't function. Jack can't get back off the stack of bricks.

The answers to your 2 remarks:

1. Yes, the floor button does indeed function.

2. Yes, Jack can get down.

Jack isn't stuck. He can get down! Remember how he came up!

I do remember. That's the confusion. It wasn't a problem the initial time through the room.

If you say he's not stuck, that's great. I climb back down the ladder in the brickwork I'm standing on.

The FIRST time I was in the room, it worked finn. Climbed back down the ladder in the brickwork Jack's standing on; made it happen.

I was backtracking in the mansion, trying to get to a spot that I'd had trouble with before. The second time in the room, I heard the noise while I was down below, but nothing resulted.

Oh well.
