Let me see if I understand you correctly:
1. You zip the HD cm
2. You put zipped cm in a folder with any other files you are uploading
3. That way the mansion stays zipped and the player can move it to the cm folder and play it without unzipping it if he wants to.

Yes to all 3.

Do we agree that:

Anthony will upload his mansions

aquaMat must check his mansions himself and make possible fixes so they will be HD ready. His mansions are often complicated and frankly I do not want to check them. I can contact him if you wish.

Whoops! pressed the wrong button, I meant to quote - not modify it. Anyway, have you also noticed that the size the forum software assigns is different than what your personal computer assigns to the zip file. I have - that's kind of annoying.

Yes, I noticed. All the more reason not to give the size.

This doesn't matter to me. I had left his mansions alone in case he wanted to jump in, but I'd thought I might go ahead and do his for him if he didn't. It would be a shame to leave his out:

- The quality is generally very high
- There are a lot of them
- It doesn't bother me to do it

I initially left them alone because something in one of your previous posts declared that admins would upload their own mansions, which seemed reasonable, and since there were many, many other mansions to upload I skipped over them. I had initially planned to do them, because the only work that might happen on Anthony's mansions is purely superficial at this point - shadows, coin glow. Since Anthony hasn't really spoken up about this process up until now, I sort of assumed (probably wrongly) that we'd end up moving his for him. I had no problem waiting until the others were uploaded though.

Well.. the fact is that I've already pretty much gone through all the mansions - including most of yours and Freddy's. I just haven't uploaded any of those. At this point, about half of aquaMats will need editing using a mansion editor (for buried levers and/or ghost platforms) and/or custom graphics. I felt he might initially focus on category 3 stuff, then maybe cat 4, and if he wants to modify any of the others, then that's certainly up to him. I just thought it would be nice to go ahead and take care of the easy ones ourselves to reduce the load.

Good point. I'm willing to go through and take out the zip file sizes.

I find it only reasonable that Anthony, as an admin, checks his own mansions since he is around anyway. Besides, he has made a lot of cm's with custom graphics and must, of course, decide himself what he wants to do with them.

I find it only fair that aquaMat checks his mansions and makes necessary changes.

My opinion is that if we have to make any changes to make the mansions work we should contact the authors and ask them to make the changes or at least ask for their permission to do so for them. I've already asked Freddy and am waiting for his answer.

I do, of course, agree that if any changes requiring an editor or graphics tool of some kind should be the responsibility of the designer. I haven't been making *any* changes along those lines. Just everything else Wink

I wasn't suggesting that we fix aquaMat's mansions, just do those that don't have to be fixed, the same as everyone else's.

It isn't a matter of fairness to me. It's simply a matter of how do we (as admins) get the majority of these mansions converted and made available in the fastest way possible. It doesn't put me out changing anyone's mansion where the process requires no changes. I'm content to avoid Anthony's for now. Though I figure he could have spoken up at any time if he had issues with it either way. It doesn't matter though. If you feel strongly about this regarding Anthony and aquaMat, then ( because I really don't feel strongly about it ), I'm content to do as you suggest.

Hehe. Dear Rob. You will gradually find out that I, although having announced that I want to quit as an admin, am still trying to control everyhing. Please don't hesitate to put me into place if you (or Anthony or Semi-Native for that matter) find me a bit overwhelming Wink

I wonder whether you are only checking the mansions via the builder. If so, are you sure you are not missing any non-playable situations?

If you have already checked aquaMat's mansions that are working in the HD then by all means upload them. The same can apply to Anthony's mansions if you want.
