Anthony, see my Reply #6 and margherita's Reply #14 to see where the problems are in the extra challenge section. If you correct those things, it will still be very, very hard but not impossible.

Keep in mind that this is the final mansion on hard mode, so it should be slightly harder then a normal hard mode mansion. Not too harder, just a couple places that are quite challenging.

When it come to how hard it is I can't evaluate it. It is just hard and I haven't learnt how to handle the wind.
Will there come an update so Jack can go to the top on the top, room 12693 ? My guess is that you wanted a ladder jump up in the next room but before Vern disabled ladder jumps.
14904 When Jack climbs the ladder in the middle and goes to get the coin on the right, the skeleton comes alive and with any slight hesitation on Jack's part, he can't avoid it.
13905 No way for Jack to avoid the scorpion because the right gray door is closed. The trigger to open it is where the scorpion is. Doesn't make sense.
15296 Sparkles and sound still occur even after Jack has killed the skull spider and reveals the objects, and re-enters the room. Game glitch?
14092 I think the skull spider should slow down a bit, especially since the small tile Jack has to step on goes completely under the floor so he has to wait until it comes out.
13893 Moving yellow platforms a bit too hard.
The whole windy section on the left side is too hard, like the right side. Too many critters, disappearing blocks.
15295 Too hard, with skull spider, bird and zapper beam to try to avoid while riding the yellow platform.
14894 Jack Stuck. Jack rode the gray bat platform down to here instead of taking the ladder. The lever on the right had not been pulled, so the gray doors are closed. Jack was able to open the red trap door and explore down below, but now he can't get back up.
17100 Is it even possible to jump over 3 spiders?
For the rooms I think are too hard - I know this is the last mansion and is supposed to be more challenging, but the rooms I've noted are more like a very hard custom mansion, in my opinion.
I just love the graphics & design of the mansion so much, that I had to take a peak at it. I just couldn't resist it any longer.
I didn't remember that the hard version was missing in the previous beta's.
14506 - Am I missing something.....is Jack suppose to figure out a way to pull the lever in the middle of the zappers that never seem to shut off long enough for him to do that? The troll can't do that.
Now it seems that he can't continue thru to room 14505 on the lower level (zapper level) because the grey door won't let him, so that he can step on the floor switch.
I will work around this problem in MLB if I can for now.
*** OK, I removed the zappers in MLB so that Jack could pull the lever & get to the floor switch in the next room.
Now here's another problem. In room 14505 Jack can't go on.
The 2 invisible switches did appear, but neither of them open the grey doors for him to continue. hmmm? see pic
14505 the Medusa did not make noise when Jack killed it. It only makes noise coming at him.
15304 - The coins over the skulls don't seem to coincide with Jacks jumping. He has to leave the room & return a few times to reset the skulls, just to collect all of them.
14504 - pls check this area out. If Jack uses the dropping brick to go down & to the right, the skeleton rises & Jack is stuck between him and that very slow spider. I made it thru, but it was a real close call. Maybe the skeleton could be on more of a delay before walking into Jack?
There seems to be a WHOLE lot of boring back tracking going on here! This mansion is way to big for the need of all this back tracking in the mountain section.
(only my opinion of course) But it really does get monotonous.
14703 - After pulling this lever Jack has to go all the way around again, instead of going back up the ladder which he had to take from room 14905 after he p/u a blue key, so that he could continue from where he left off, so that he can p/u the yellow key. hmmmm???
14905 & 14906 to get those to that Secret place he has to back track again to get to the room above to continue. hmmmm?
14503 - I think that this SAME problem was corrected in the other versions, so maybe you could consider doing the same.
Re: the 2 vines. If Jack drops down off one of them to enter the room below (which gives the impression to do so in the map) he now has to back track ALL over again to get back up there.
In the other versions some sort of brick was installed so that he could grab the vine again & go back up from there.
All this back tracking really is a pain!
14108 - After Jack takes the batmobile to this room, the batmobile disappears and Jack has to back track all over again.
My point to all this is that since the game play requires so much back tracking in the mountains, perhaps you might consider curtailing it in some places. Perhaps others might feel as I do. As much as I love this area, I end up feeling very frustrated, like when is this going to be over, let me out of here. Maybe its just me? But all this back tacking is really to much over kill.
As much as I love the wind in the previous version, I have to agree with the others re: the wind in this version. The critters are not easy to jump over at all. Whew! Way to hard. Lucky I use the extra life feature, because in a real game, I would have had to pack this game in out of frustration.
It's not just jumping over the critters that is the problem, it's even sliding into either water or over the edge. NO CONTROL WHAT SO EVER. If it were toned down to doable, then this section would be great.
13507 - with the Medusa and the disappearing blocks.....talk about a prescription for failure (death)!
13505 - all that wind and the bird so low, how can he jump over it? death for certain.
12906 - sometimes the belt doesn't work, it looks like it is rotating, but Jack just stand there and if he tries to jump he dies.
Ok, I give up! I'm not even going to try to get the monies, I just want to get to the end of this section, it is way to hard and spending hours upon hours from the last save to go thru this in a regular game, well, not for me. I am way to embarrassed to say just how many lives Jack has had to use in this section alone.
14911 - To be honest, I always find these types of rooms very tedious. There seems to be a gap in the floor where Jack is standing, see pic.
Anyway, way to busy & dizzy with critters & trolls. As you can see, I killed them all to get them out of the way for testing.
15111 - Aside from a few coins, I find NO incentive to going into this room at all. Perhaps you could make it more enticing? I mean, who wants to tackle a huge spider for a few pieces of silver? lolololol
15101 - Going back into this room after exploring the alps....the funny thing is that the green falling brick only appears in the water AFTER Jack jumps towards the red door! lololol Oh, and now that he comes back here from the left, the same things happens on the left side. lololol
15301 - Now this section puzzles me. I can't remember the previous strategy in the other versions. Jack came down here to use the save and p/u a green key.
YET, the pathway on the left leading to the lower level is now also available to him. hmmm? Isn't that pathway the way to the exit? If yes, then perhaps a sign post should advise the player of such? ie: you have 2 choices, down is the exit up is another part of the mansion.
For the sake of testing and not wanting to do much more back tracking, I will chose the upper part.
15099 - see both pics. What is the purpose of the purple dropping brick near the batmobile? Am I missing something?
All it does is block the batmobile from moving left.
Then if Jack takes the batmobile from the left to the right, it bounces into the purple brick again and ends up back on the left and Jack has to leave the room to re-set it.????
15100 - to p/u the gold coins in the room Jack has to do a lot of back tracking again to get back up to room 15099.
In the other versions, he did not have to back track, as there was a way up from room 15099.
14698 - see pic. where Jack is standing. Is it possible to remove the 1st step? When Jack is coming back from the left to the right, that step gets in the way & when he jumps he gets eaten up.

Hmmm.... it is HARD after all. I'm a little concerned to see backtracking called out. Sometimes the only way to make a certain trap harder is to force the player through it more than once ;-). In my version of Dr. Demented's Den, the player has to wander through most of the mansion at least twice. In this case, it's more a matter of how badly do you really want those gold coins? I like the dilemma.
