- Game now asks
Are you sure you want to quit?
if you click the window's red close button while playing a game.

Seems to work fine - except for within Options dialog. Also, if you minimize the game while viewing the Options, you won't be able to get the game back again. At least, not easily. I was able to get it back using exposé.

Icelandic keyboard:

° (the leftmost one in the uppermost row) = ° but only in second attempt (
unknown
after first attempt)
ö (to the right of 0) = return mark (the q-like symbol)
- (the rightmost one in the uppermost row) = - (fixed)
ð (to the right of P, I forgot this in my last report) = °
? (the rightmost one in second row, I forgot this on also) = '
æ (to the right of L) = | (actually split in 2 vertical bars)
´ (next to æ) = ´ but only in second attempt (
unknown
after first attempt)
+ (second to æ) =
unknown
< = < (fixed)
þ (to the right of .) = 3/4

Yes. I know. Icelandic has far too many special characters.

A lever jump is when you pull a lever, and while the animation is working you make Jack jump so that immediately after the lever animation is done, Jack jumps.

I thought the main use was that while Jack is pulling the lever he doesn't fall. So you could put a lever above a falling platform. By the time the animation was finished, the platform would be gone, but Jack could still get in one last jump - from the lever.

You could also have strange scenarios where the lever could be mid-air and a moving platform could briefly pass it allowing Jack, if he's quick, to pull the lever, and still get in a jump because of the quirk - hopefully to safety.

Who reported this one, Vern? This was something I had initially used in MM II, then pulled out. I wouldn't be surprised if one or two custom mansions used this quirk. Update: Even if they do, it doesn't matter since this only applies to built-in mansions.

Is that wise? If this is something we've had before in built-in mansion don't take it away!

Rose: I don't believe it's present in any built-in mansions - just custom ones, and he did say this only affects built in mansions (something I missed initially).

I've been through all the mm 1 mansions pretty thoroughly and didn't see any place where the exploit was required.

The reason I asked is that I have never regarded this a an exploit. Let's say that Jack lands on a disappearing platform under a lever, pulls the lever and then has to jump to stay alive. Or, he is on a gold block under a lever, pulls the lever and has to jump to the next silver block. To me this is a totally normal behaviour for Jack.

Actually, I sort of thought the same thing, but the scenario you described brell plus the ones I described were all in the built-in mansion I enhanced for mm2 - all these occurrences had to come out before the release.  My thinking had been more influenced by what I'd seen in custom mansions than the original game.

None of these scenarios exist for mm1/hd. Some are quite common in the more tricky custom mansions - all unaffected, but nothing is truly being lost for built-ins.

Update:

Having said that I'm still mildly surprised that Vern decided to take this quirk out, but relieved it's still in the custom mansions. There's just too many interesting situations that this makes possible.

Vern: one thing that concerns me a little bit, though, and I'm going to test it out in a few moments. There are several cases in MM2 where moving platforms (resting on the ground) have a lever above them to start the platform - this is done because the platforms can leave the room. Have you checked to be sure that this change doesn't affect that? It shouldn't, but it's worth checking.
