IMPORTANT: You'll need to delete your existing saved games, profiles, preferences, etc. I changed settings in beta 5 so you need to start over from scratch with this version. Sorry!

Those with international keyboards: please test two things:
1) Do the proper symbols show up in your Options dialog when you change key settings?
2) Can you use - and + keys to zoom in and out on the map screen? (This might not be fixed, but I can't quite tell.)

Version History:

- Fixed bug where game could easily crash when doing Command-Q to quit during the game. (Or in other instances too.)
- Fixed weird backgrouund that would appear if you hit Command-Q while on the in-game map screen.
- Pushing the action key to dismiss a sign in front of the exit door at the end of a mansion no longer causes Jack to exit the door.
- Zapper beams now always show as
on
on the map, even if the beam's starting delay isn't 0, as long as the beams actually are on. Please test zapper beams a lot in this beta release, both in the game, and in the map, to be sure they still work properly!
- Updates to Tomb of Princes, Hint House, Falcon Manor Normal, and The Great Escape.
- Organ player screen now has HD artwork. Create a new player profile and start a new game to see it.
- Saved games now go in a new subfolder just for that mansion. This is to pave the way for future changes to make saving / opening saved games much more seamless.
- Game now asks
Are you sure you want to quit?
if you click the window's red close button while playing a game.
- Your custom mansions folder should now be called
Midnight Mansion HD Custom Mansions
- MIGHT have fixed the issue where - and + keys were not working to zoom the map when international keyboards are used. Can you please test? This might not be fixed still! If not, I'll need some further help with fixing it.
- Please note: clicking/popping in the footsteps or landed sound effects has NOT been fixed. I will work on this in a future beta version, as apparently my entire sound library needs to be replaced with something better.

Uh-oh. The version you provided didn't work. Apparently, there's a folder missing in the SDL_mixer library.

For everyone testing, here's a quick fix:

1. Download the attached file, which is the missing folder (this copy of the folder was taken from Beta 4) compressed into a zip file. Open it and you should get a folder called 'mikmod.framework'.

2. Control-click on the application, and choose 'Show Package Contents'.

3. In the window that appears, go into 'Frameworks', then into 'SDL_mixer.framework'. Inside that, go into 'Versions', then into 'A', and then into 'Frameworks' again.

4. Drop the folder you unpacked ('mikmod.framework') into the 'Frameworks' folder you just entered.

5. The game should run after that.

I deleted everything that you said should be deleted.

I put the beta5 app into the MM folder where the game data is.

beta5 app will not open. I've tried several times and rechecked that I'd trashed the files.

As a side note, the zoom keys work for me. The zapper beams show up properly as well, with the exception of the room you're currently in (the map shows the current state of the zapper beams in the room Jack is in).

SoITBegins, I tried your work around but it didn't work for me. It doesn't start MMHD at all and I didn't get any crash report.

This is pretty easy to test. All you have to do is change language support for your mac. It can be done on the fly pretty easily. I tried many different locales. Some had plus and minus keys in different areas. Results were mostly good, still some failures.

* Afghan Pashto - good
* Arabic/Arabic (QUERTY) - both good
- Armenian (zoom out works, zoom in does not)
* Azeri - good
* Czech - good
* French - good
- Hungarian - (zoom out works, zoom in does not)
* Italian/Italian Pro - both good
* Romanian (standard) - good
* Swedish - good
- Thai (zoom out works, zoom in does not)
* US - good

What seems to be common for the ones that do not work is that they require additional modifier keys to get the plus. I think you should consider adding the +/- keys to your Control options now or in the future, so that players can assign the keys to whatever is comfortable - that way, even if their defaults are not working, they can assign them to something else and not lose the functionality. For some of the keyboards, plus and minus are pretty far apart.
