This whole

mansion based on a mansion

discussion above, I think, goes back to the fact that, while usually custom mansions are

buildings

with different rooms, passages, doors leading to otrher areas etc., the Testing Mansion is basically just a few series of the same room repeated endlessly, but increasingly stuffed with hardships and creatures.

While that might also have a certain charm (and challenge), it is not, IMO, a mansion in the true sense.
