Am I the only one having these opinions??

Hi Rose,

Sorry for the delay in replying. I've been absolutely consumed with trying to get Midnight Mansion HD submitted to the Mac App Store the past 4 days, and haven't been successful. So now I'm putting that project on hold while waiting to hear back from Apple about my problem, and in the mean time am going back to fixing bugs.

I wanted to say first, don't assume that because something doesn't work, that we took the feature out. The minus key *should* be working. The fact that it isn't is a bug. I'll read the rest of this thread soon and start looking into why. The fact that you can scroll with a scroll wheel is an *additional feature*. But - and + keys have not been taken out of the game.

Something that might be helpful for you to understand is that the game engine for Midnight Mansion has been *completely rewritten* from scratch in order to run on Intel macs natively, and run on Windows / iPhone in the near future. This took about 9 months of work to rewrite. Because of this, some of the features the old game had aren't possible in the new, or are much more difficult. One example is setting the system volume. This is absolutely not possible anymore, because Apple has disabled it. As for music/sound volume sliders, this is quite difficult -- it would take likely two FULL days of programming to implement. I won't go into why right now. But let's just say that some things, from a programming perspective, are far more difficult or time-consuming than you might think they are.

I do have to balance my time and make choices about what is worth the time spent when programming. Sliders aren't going to make it, sorry. Wish I could, and I want to, but it's just not a good use of time for me right now. A checkbox for
softer music
IS something I can do, and I plan to add that.

I think I know what is causing this problem. I will apply a potential fix -- let me know once beta 5 is out if it works! Thanks.
