Hi there,
Surcouf's writing. I was the designer for Warrior, J. to Sarkozyland, Cranes and Daedalus(2008). I enjoy so much to play MM HD again, and when I play my mansions I remember countless time I spent on it, betatested by Rose, Aquamat, Semi-Native. I've been absent from the forum for a few reasons, but now I've time again. So... when will it be possible to build some again, on Mac OS 10.7?
Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I posted anything so I though I'd do so now with this small confession.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am gay.

Why would I be confessing that you ask? I really don't know, I just felt it needed to be out there

Until next time
How is it possible to get this high score?
1. A bug in MM?
2. Hacked by the user?
If the latter, Chris should hang his/her head in shame.

[update 20120215]
Just had a very quick look to see how easy it would be to hack the score. It's so simple, any 'moron' could do it.

Guys: If you can't play the game properly, please don't resort to childish things like this.

ActionSoft Team: Please remove that silly high score from the list.

Thanks.

I think I am stuck. Maybe I am missing something, but I have tried everything I can find to get out of where I am. It looks like I need a blue key, which I do not have. Attempting to add a jpg of the map where I am stuck.
I want to list some known issues that people sometimes run into, and the solution to them.

1) The game tries to start up (icon bounces) but then it just quits.

This problem exists in the original 1.0.0 version when you start up a newer version of the game (either Episode 1 or Episode 2), causing the 1.0.0 version to be unable to launch.

The solution is to upgrade the 1.0.0 version to the latest version available.

2) When you try to open a saved game in the Mac App Store version of the game, it says you must register before you can open a saved game in that mansion.

This is a bug in the 1.0.2 version of the Mac App Store version of the game. I will try to fix this soon.

In the mean time, you can download the ActionSoft version of Midnight Mansion HD (click on Free Demo), and it should run fully unlocked if you have played both Episode 1 and 2 from the Mac App Store. This might not always work in the future, but it certainly will for now, until I can fix the bug above and submit it to Apple.

3) Episodes 1 and 2 are no longer
linked
for the Mac App Store version.

Apple required me to separate them. I tried to reason with them, but they would not approve any bug-fixing updates to the game until I completely separated the two episodes.

Again though, a solution for now is to download the ActionSoft version of Midnight Mansion HD, which will run unlocked as long as you have launched purchased versions of both Episode 1 and 2 on that computer. This may not work on future versions of OS X once
sandboxing
is introduced, but it will work for now.

You have helped me a lot with my personal life even though we've never met
If you can read this wherever you are, know that you have made a difference to the people around you, even if you didn't know it
I just downloaded the Midnight Mansion HD upgrades from the Apple App store and now I can play part 1 and part 2 separately but have lost the link between the two parts. How do I get this back?
For the more competitive ones here, this little app grabs all the top (No.1) global scores for the eleven included mansions, and displays them in one window.
Hi All,

I found a great web site designed by Phil Stokes the Apple Help & Doc Writer who is, (quote from his web page):

I am a technical communicator specializing in writing help, tutorials and documentation for software products that run on Mac OS, iOS, and X11, and I’m particularly interested in cross-platform software that needs Mac-specific documentation. I also advise on Mac usability, software architecture and design issues for ported software interfaces.

Maybe he could help with some tekkie questions. Check out his site at: http://applehelpwriter.com/

I think he's in the UK so allow for time difference. He's great at responding immediately during working hours.
His Tutorials are so easy to follow too. Great web page, very user friendly.

I hope that some of you will find answers to your tekkie problems.

I asked him about DivX, but that is not his area of expertise.

Also, check out his
Free Download
tab. He really does know what to recommend & what to avoid and why.

In the Uninstall MacKeeper thread, I learned about the Free Download called
Easy Find
. This is such an amazing app. It's everything that Spotlight should be and isn't. You have no idea how many hidden folders I found in a blink of an eye, even tho Finder & Spotlight showed none.

Easy Find Download: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/11076/easyfind
Easy Find Home Page: http://www.devontechnologies.com/products/freeware/

Alternative: Feel free to have a look at Thomas Tempelmann's
Find Any File
. In contrast to EasyFind you'll get a hierarchical result list, you can search as
root
user, search after date ranges and file sizes, and save searches and re-run them later.

Find Any File
by Thomas Tempelmann's download link: http://itunes.apple.com/app/find-any-file/id402569179?mt=12

If your going to try
Easy Find
, just remember to check off a few things. See pic below.

Notice the
All Volumes
window with the drop down arrow, located in the upper right, under the magnifying glass. I'm just experimenting with this app., and I think that
All Volumes
covers everything. Once things are found, you just click on a line & then click
Reveal in Finder
. Wow, so easy.
Next, if you don't want to play around & just want to delete everything, just go to the the Mac Edit button & click select all & then click the red circle
Delete
in the Easy Finder and your done. It will only remove what it is showing in the list. If you chose to only search Hard Drive or Home File, then that is only where it will delete from. That's why I am using
All Volumes
.
Oh, and check out the Settings button too.

btw: Avoid the MacKeeper. It's always crashing & does not remove everything like the Easy Find does.
