Hi
Posted by: otg - 01-02-2008, 09:10 PM - Forum: Hello ! - Replies (2)

Loox like I'm the first one to post here on this side of the new year.

Found the game while looking for any freeware game for mac, since I'm on xmas holiday at my parents in the woods and nothing to do...
Found MM, and as I recall playing Dark Castle at a friend's back in '90 on a MacPlus and loving it, I just *had* to try this

Sat in my bed and played through the free parts, got up in the middle of the night, went out on my dad's modem, spent the most well-spent 20$ in my life I think [since I'm swedish, I don't spend dollars that often] and played all easy mansions in a row. Not much sleep that night :Smile

Started on Falcon Normal, but I seemed to miss something since I couldn't visit all of the mansion [didn't notice at first that I hadn't on the Easy one either], tried Nightmare Easy and found out I had the same problem... So I thought I'd better join the forum if it'd be going on like this Big Grin

Even tried to play and watch the mansion builder parallel to the game, trying to see where I'm missing anything but I don't see it... well well I guess there will be answers to all of my questions in time

Oops, didn't mean to post a question here... just thought I'd say hi Big Grin

...and that I'm looking forward to beating all of the included mansions, and then start making my own. I don't think I'll ever need a computer game again [haven't needed one before either Big Grin]

...and welcome myself to the forum Wink

Radeka 1.5

Designer: joeb (Matt & Joe)

Size mansion: 2,4 MB

Size data-folder: 1 MB

Size zip-file: 1,3 MB

Checksum sha zipfile: cfceb810c666058cf35f9ad57696f6acee03e8b7

Info by the Admins:

1° After unzipping the file and opening the Radeka 1.5 folder, drag both the Ra-mansionfile and the Ra-datafolder to your Custom Mansions folder of MM.
2° Throw away the Radeka 1.5 folder.
3° Play Ra and don't swop files after playing!

Info by joeb:

The mansion has nearly 100 rooms, 10 secrets and a +60000 coin score.

After Jack's narrow escape from the Ghost King (Ghosthunter) he has decided he needs a vacation and decides to visit a series of archeological sites to see what he might find. His journey takes him from Frankie's Funhouse on top of a mountain, thru underground caves and caverns, past smelly swamps and old temple ruins to a snow covered ancient castle that leads to a hidden Tibetian fortune left by the Shadow.
During this adventure you will run into difficult challenges. Most of the time the best strategy is to take a moment to examine the room before proceeding. There are a lot of what might be considered cheap deaths that can easily (and not so easily) be avoided by taking a little time to examine the surroundings. In particular, WHEN YOU SEE WEBS THERE ARE SPIDERS! Instead of using the simple MM Spider webs we developed a long stringy white variant.
The MM vine has been split off into both an off-white rope and a bright green flower-less vine both of which can be climbed. The majority of standard MM brick tiles have been replaced with custom M&J tile sets and there are 8 new backgrounds. We also developed a pretty spiffy new snake which when used with a special moving platform and the swamp tile set creates the illusion of a snake swimming thru the mud.
Feel free to use any of the included graphics in your own mansions but we'd like a credit line somewhere about the graphics.

  Midnight Mansion 1.1.1 Released
Posted by: imported_admin - 12-31-2007, 10:46 PM - Forum: Midnight Mansion Updates - Replies (4)

Released a minor update today:

- Fixed a problem with the 1.1.0 release where Falcon Manor couldn't be played on Easy mode.
- Changed high score submission so that you can submit a high score online only if you beat a mansion.
Screen shots
Posted by: rose - 12-31-2007, 12:13 PM - Forum: MM1 Talk (Mac only) - Replies (7)

Screens shots of the end result in a mansion is difficult for me. I still can't grab the last window with the result. Tried Apple + Shift + 3 but it just changed to next window, the one with Start, Open etc..

What am I doing wrong??? I know we have had this discussion earlier but can't find the topic or was it in an older forum?!

The Mansion Family PART 2 -how shall I release it?
Posted by: aquaMat - 12-31-2007, 10:59 AM - Forum: MM1 Talk (Mac only) - Replies (6)

Dear friends,

you might remember that I told you (prior to the release of TMF 3 - A Wondrous Place) that Part 2 of The Mansion Family (a.k.a.
Northern Lights
) is currently put on hold. I had abandoned its design in Spring 2007 because I wasn't entirely satisfied with the snow landscapes (and also got a little tired of it).

Last night I replayed the part of it that's ready and thought it would be nice if it did get released - one way or the other.

So I need your help!! How shall I release it?
Should I....

1. Dust it off and polish it a little and release the only half-finished mansion
as is
in Free Up- and Downloading ? ...or....

2. Wait until inspiration strikes me again one sunny day and finish it proper and do an
official release
?

What do you think ?? Undecided :o 8-)

  Can't play my Mansion!!!
Posted by: Surcouf - 12-30-2007, 02:42 PM - Forum: Forums Issues - Replies (12)

Hello! [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]
So, I'm a newbie here (hope this is the right place for my first post), coming from France and MM's addict.
I already built some elementary Mansions and played them, but the one I'm working on causes some problem: when I want to play with, launching it by the game itself (start game, choose mansion...), no opening and a window appears with
Can't find a resource...
(see att. file).
Any idea?
Thanks and a happy new year.

  Hello MM Fans!
Posted by: computercoder - 12-29-2007, 07:06 PM - Forum: Hello ! - Replies (4)

I'm computercoder just saying my initial
Hello
to everyone!

MM is a GREAT 2D game! I'm surprised I haven't seen it before. I've had my MacBook Pro for about a year now (Yup, I converted from the PC; however, still have way too many of them running in my house Sad )

I'm looking forward to playing through the game and seeing what everyone builds in their mansions. I *may* build one myself Tongue

They appear to be quite unpopular, yet the game wouldn't be the same without them. They can be extremely frustrating, but so rewarding when you beat them. They can turn out to be much harder than intended, but they look so nice in a room!

What's your opinion?
