Hi guys!

I just wanted to inform you that due to my studies I'll only be able to finish
Jacque's Revenge
this summer. The good news: I am working on an easy version of Palais Pompomrouge right now. A ton of beasties will be deleted and the hardcore-jumps will be much much easier. I hope this way I can encourage more people to give it a try and can also make the ones come back who left the mansion cursing and screaming

Hi all,
I am still "beating away at Palais PomPomRouge :-) I am past Save 6 iirc.
I do have a question for the author (Leo?): I am in Room 18104, after going UP from below. The below section is unfinished and i would like to go back down. Yes, I found the 4 rooms of money, and it's time for Jack to resume the quest!
PLEASE don't tell me I have to up, to the left, and ALL the way around again to get back to where I was before!
Thanks much!

Greetings all,
Long time, but I'm back! Had a chance to try some of the new Opuses (opera) that have been launched - always fun!
I'm trying
Palais Pompomrouge
right now and stumbled on a problem.
Took advantage of Save #1 (see JPEG) which is frame #16702 and it appears that Jack is stuck - the brick that served as top of the door frame is now in the way of a clear jump.
How does Jack get down? Or does one have to start over (that would be mean!).
Thanks much!

HI there! First, let me say that I agree that this is an AMAZING mansion. Very difficult but beautiful and interesting. For those people who are so critical...I suggest you build a mansion of your own so that you can see the amount of work that goes into such a venture. This way, you will have first hand knowledge as to how difficult it is to find all the glitches. While I understand just how frustrating it is to discover a JS or CD, these boards should be thought of as a community where constructive criticism can help fine tune a massive undertaking like designing a new mansion. And lastly, it is most important to find the positives and commend the designer for a job well done.

That having been said. I too discovered a JS (I think). Any way out of here? When I go left, I fall down into room #18502 from where I can get nowhere.Oops! Now am stuck in the upper left corner of 18502.

Hi everybody!

I worked a little faster than I anticipated and now my first custom mansion is ready [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] . I tested the whole mansion a couple of times. But of course, I only did it from the creator point of view, always having the right way to go and the right thing to do in mind. So now I am looking for beta-testers! The mansion has 340+ rooms (some of which are only for decorative purposes, so that the map looks neat). There are 8 save pedestals and more than half a mill in gold to get. I am looking for a somewhat experienced player, since a couple of rooms are a bit hard and the secrets aren't always easy to find (though not impossible). The thing is: There are no cracks in the walls pointing towards a secret but other stuff like a break in a pattern, a suspicious coin or beastie or sound.

Another thing: There is quite a lot of text on quite a lot of signs because next to the normal plundering I am also telling a little story, that will be continued in the sequel (which is already in planning). So please bear with me when there is a lot to read.

Well, that's pretty much it for the time being. Don't panic if you answer to this message quickly and don't hear from me for a couple of days. I'll be on the road. I am taking my laptop with me though and when there's a chance I'll write back.

See y'all!

Hi everybody!

I just want to announce that I am working on my first custom mansion.

It will have some 200+ rooms and will be kind of old-school featuring pretty much everything from easy to suicide. The difference to other mansions will be that the total amount of gold you can get (500.000 $) is spread across a couple of big secret vault-areas. Problem: There wont be any hints as to where the secrets are. This means that if you do not find any secrets you will have to be careful because you will not get a lot of extra lives from the
legit
gold. On the other hand, as soon as you start finding secrets, dying wont be an issue anymore (We're talking serious extra-lives per vault here). This might sound boring, because the challenge of making it through the mansion alive will be gone after your got like 50 lives. But I never meant to build a mansion that actually kills Jack off. I like the little fella and I wouldn't want to see him dead . The challenge in my mansion will be to find as many of the secrets as possible without checking the preview pics in the level-editor.

The whole thing also has a story. It takes place in Paris in 1789 and Jack Malone is plundering the palace of an aristocrat who just fled from the city because of the revolution. The aristocrat (a marquis) is kind of making fun of Jack in the beginning (via signs) and gets whinier and whinier later as Jack finds more and more secrets.

Well, of course it all sounds a bit vague right now. I just want to let you know that there is a big new mansion in progress. As soon as I feel like this is actually going to be ready soon, I'll post a screenshot.

If anyone already thinks he or she would like to beta the whole thing, let me know! [smiley=laugh.gif]

Cheers,
