FACES
#1
Dear friends,

to compensate for the waiting time until the official release of PoG and the Discotheque and all the other designer's mansions waiting in the wings, I thought I'd share with you

- a stupid little experimental mansion I made, called FACES.

Actually, it's not that experimental, apart from a few quirks...but find out for yourselves:

EDIT (Jan. 30th; 2:40 pm): I accidentially uploaded the wrong (early) version. This is the new one. Sorry.

EDIT 2 (Feb. 3, 2007): Attachment has been removed. FACES is now downloadable from the OFFICIAL LIST.

Thats abit on the normal/hard side, but it was alright. Beat it in 2:52 with $9000, 100% secrets and 14 lives.  Smile

Also I noticed that in the first room there was a hidden ladder, right? How did you get layer six dirt to not cover Jack's feet but just cover the ladder? :-?  I've been wonering that for along time.  Smile

How can I ever continue the testing of PoG? :Smile Wink

Nice intermezzo, aquaMat. In my opinion also small mansions deserve a place at the List of Completed Mansions. But to get listed you should have a look at 2 JSs. There is one in the exitroom at the left moneybag. And the other one is, once being down, when you are missing keys.

Btw, I don't agree that it is a hard mansion. Although none of the secrets is hinted, the mansion is so small, that everybody should be able to find them in a
normal
way. What is more: one can't continue without finding the secrets.

Personal conclusion: nice faces, worth being listed, normal difficulty, but 2 fixes needed.

My guess would have been an easy NORMAL.... (if such a thing exists), but yes, it's true, one has to find the secrets in order to continue, and once you're down (and missed some keys) you're not able to get back up.

To cater for that situation I have made 2 keys multicolored ones (as those are the ones probably everybody finds), and then will still be able to finish, albeit with a few money-bags öess. Wink

I'm surprised and pleased that you think it's worthy of inclusion in the standard list... and I'll check the JS problem(s) later this evening. I'll send an update soon....

(BTW: The JS in the exitroom I was aware of, I just thought it was so obvious that you'd get stuck if you climb up there Undecided)

There is a major demand for easy and normal mansions. Indepent of the size! But you may not surprize
starting
players with JSs.

Once it is ready, you may send it to me by email, for release.

Just what I thought until Psychotronic, Freddy and other betatesters of my mansions told me otherwise. You have to assume that if there is a possible JS situation, some players are bound to get there.

What do you mean? While climbing down, Jack is completely covered with L6-without-fringe. And when at the bottom you can see that the cover in L6-w-f is only 2 bricks wide. Because, when he tries to go to the left you immediately see his toes. Is that what you wanted to know, Wingy?

I din't know that we had dirt in Midnight Mansion? It is the neatest game in the world. Yeah! ;D

I didn't understand it either, Wingy....otherwise I would have answered your question immediatly.
What do you mean by
layer-6 dirt
??

If I should guess what you mean, I direct you to the command
draw layer-6 with / without fringe
. (??)
