Sound problem

I just noticed that MM2 can't change the system sound. In the MM2 preferences I had set the system sound to 20 %. I started the game but didn't get any sound. I had yesterday set the system sound in System preferences to 0%. MM2 couldn't change it. IT seems to me the case with MM1 too. They can't override the System preferences. I use the Snow Leopard system.

I'm unable to verify this at the moment, but it wouldn't surprise me. Likely Apply doesn't want apps changing the system volume (because they should be isolated from each other).
