New posts in Approved Custom Mansions

Is there a way to know if there is a truly 'new' post in an Approved Custom Mansion section? Does a player have to open each mansion, regardless of when the latest post was posted, in order do have a truly new post for that section? Wow, that even confused me! It's just that it always says there are new posts in a particular alphabetized section of custom mansions even when the newest post for any mansion in that sections was months ago.

Me neither. Sherryl, do you mean that a post that you've already read still appears as a new post next time you log in? If that is the case, how do you leave a specific topic? If you use the back button of the browser you may get this effect. I usually use the forum home button to remove the new post markings after I've read them.

I don't know if this helps you, but on the HOME tab page, at the bottom is the following section that shows the 10 recent posts and all you have to do is click on it. I copied and pasted that section for you, see below:
