Jack Stuck I think
#1
Hi,

Boy oh boy is this a hard mansion. Lots of CD's. I think that this is a Jack Stuck. Please advise.
When are you going to fine tune it? It's a Great Hard Mansion!

In this pic, Jack can't get back to p/u the red key. I will post the other
pic where Jack can't get out of either, because he doesn't have a purple key.

Missy, check whether you can find any advice in the long
Church
thread. I never finished this not-so-well-polished mansion. Sam promised us an update long time ago but we haven't heard from him for quite a time now. Actually we should not have put this mansion on the custom mansion list in the state it is in but we thought it was thoroughly beta tested.

Thank you Brell,

I did check the long thread....there is no mention of hints,
Only complaints that there are so many CD's and JS's and not finished.

To bad someone else does not finish this mansion properly as it really is worth it.

Oh well.

Agreed, but then there is the question of authority (is that the right term?).

Vern has his contact info. If the creator gives permission then it would be worth completing.
If the creator is no where to be found.....then what's the problem?
It's not like there is a domain claim.....is there?

Freddy and I also have his e-mail. To me it is still a question of copyright regardless whether the author can be contacted or not.

Since you are in possession of his email, have you tried contacting him thru his personal email?

BTW: Is it not the copyright of Vern's game that these CM's are based on? Aren't these CM's considered Fangames based on licensed computer games?

Was there a written agreement between the licensed copyright owner and the CM creator? Only Vern can answer that question as the CM creator is not making himself/herself available.

See below question posted on the net in this link:
Copyright questions concerning computer games

http://www.intelproplaw.com/Copyright/Forum/msg/6740.shtml

If the creators of the fangame are approached by the company with the copyrights and are offered the rights to publish the games even if the company owns the copyrights, can they make a deal that ensures that the fangame won't be taken away from them or discontinued at a later stage just because they agreed to produce the game under their supervision?

I didn't mean copyright laws or anything like that. I only meant
ethical copyright
. For example, I am not sure that I would like it if someone else changed one of my CM's and then made it available to the MM public.
But it is open to debate. If the mansion is truly unplayable without changes then something must be done. It would be nice to have more views on this.

And yes, Freddy has tried to contact him. If I remember correctly, Sam had promised us an update but that was ages ago.

Some time people change their email address. Perhaps you have his phone number on file, or use 411 reverse search with his address or phone number or anything.

But I agree, it would be nice to contact the person first. If to no avail and all post attempts have been made to get creator to surface, well, then the CM, sorry to put it so bluntly........ is up for grabs.
