When hitting choose on a folder it will open up and so it did!

Also I haven't unzip anything but the game itself.

Hmm... this is strange. By opening Spider Palace as a custom mansion the saves still work. Then why don't they work when we open a real custom mansion?

I was wondering the same thing. I remembered your comment from the other day and immediately went down and tried to save, and it worked as it was supposed to. What I haven't tried to do is load the saved game.

That's fine. Vern says that the game should be able to load the mansion directory, or a zip file containing the directory. I haven't tried it yet.

I tried but it was on the MidnightMansionHDBeta4.zip and that might not be right.

It is possible to save the games while playing the custom mansions but it is not possible to open the saves since the game cannot locate the
Midnight Mansion HD Custom Mansions
folder from the save folder. On the other hand the game can locate the mansion from the save folder if it is in the /Game data/Mansions folder even if it is played as a custom mansion.

Hehe. I made small CM, put it in the /Game data/Mansions folder, opened the mansion and saved it. Then I tried to open the save. It didn't work. Smart game. It clearly
knows
that the CM was not a built-in Wink

Ok, I think I have got it. The first time I tried to open Spider palace or any other original mansion, through the Open Mansion choice, I got folder and when choosing one it open up as folder do and shows the content. Vern had said it was possible to play mansion even if the are zipped. I zipped the Spider Palace Easy. Then I used Open mansion and clicked on SP easy folder but is behaved like the game, not as an folder. I did n't see the zipped file. If I tried to open any other mansion which were not zipped they open as a folder.

Because the game looks for custom mansions in *two* places, just in case you opened a built-in mansion using the Open Custom Mansion feature. And yes, the place it looked for custom mansions was broken in beta 5. Fixed in beta 6.

Rose and everyone else: to test Spider Palace, simply play all other mansions briefly and enter
i win
as the cheat code. As long as I left
testing cheats
enabled in beta 5 (don't remember if I did) then this will instantly beat the mansion and mark it with a red circle on the map. You can quickly do this for all mansions, allowing you to then play Spider Palace.
