When setting the keys the Jump keys doesn't show the changes to ö and ä even if the keys does function in the program. What is showing is the US keyboards characters for those keys!!! It isn't a problem in MM1 or MM2.
It hasn't specifically to do with the jump keys. It is only that I use those special character keys for jumping keys.

Would you consider this to be an issue you could live with? I know it's not ideal, but it's mainly cosmetic.
The problem is that the game's font doesn't have special characters. We could add them, but I'm not sure how to properly link those characters with the correct keys on european keyboards.

For me it works well to use ä and ö (for the long jumps) as they are near the shift key which on my extended keyboard I used for jumping.

What other keys on your keyboard don't show up properly in the dialog box? Can you try them all?

å show as [
ä -> '
ö -> ;
' -> \< -> unknown
¨ -> ]
´ -> =
+ -> "
§ -> '
I haven't tested characters I need to hold down Shift to get at.

Okay, I've looked into this more, and unfortunately there is no way to fix it.. It's a problem in the library I'm using, SDL -- there is no way provided to handle unicode (i.e. international) characters.
I'll just add a note to the Options dialog that some keys may not display correctly, but will still work properly in-game.
