Beta 2b - Game froze on abort; Force Quit [Closed/Unable to Duplicate]
#1
Tomb of Princes_Normal:

Decided to abort the game, used the game menu via the escape key. It was very slow to react... very.  So slow, in fact, that I decided I'd possibly misclicked, and since my cursor was now up by the menu bar, I used the File Menu command to abort.

Ker-freeeeze!

I want to add that the abort attempt was due the the JackStuck in 15494 (which I didn't report as it's already been found). Smile

I've tried to reproduce this a number of times, with no luck. Each time, I ensured jack was stuck at the location you were at.

I've also aborted the game many, many times in various mansions and rooms, and haven't run across the same thing. Still, it could be something specific to your environment, and I might never see it.

Please update this thread if you're able to repeat it - not just from that one location, but from anywhere, and provide as many details as possible. If it happens once, see if you can make it happen again.

The key to quickly fixing problems is having repeatable scenarios. Otherwise, it's just an anomaly that's tough to address.

Thanks!

Another good thing to take in account is if you have any background activity.

If your playing a game with a bunch of applications in the background, it uses a bunch of power from the computer, so chances are that certain applications may run unstable (I've had experience with this in the past) especially if you're running an older operating system or if you are on an older computer.

No extra load on the CPU. When I used the game menu to abort, nothing happened for at least 20 seconds, so I used the file menu.

It happened once. I told you about it. That's what I assumed I was supposed to do. If it's an anomaly, that's great. I signed up to report glitches. Smile

Fair enough. Thanks. Smile

Wasn't able to duplicate it either. Looked at the code, and didn't see anything I could try to fix. If it happens again let me know!
