Beta 4: Dr. Demented's Den
Hi Rob, I'm blocked again... I need a red key to go ahead ... Attached you find a picture of the whole mansion map so you can see the rooms I visited.

About room 16508: I think Semi Native is right, the green platform is needed...

I'm stuck like this, too. No red key and nowhere else to go. I see a red door in 16304, but gray doors are closed, blocking entry from the right. Jack can't approach from the left because there's a closed gray door in 16302. I'm totally confused.

17308 How is Jack supposed to get the money bags on both sides of the ladder at the top right?

The intent of the green platform (or whatever color it ends up being) was to take Jack all the way to the far left, and then up into Room 16304 from the bottom. Maybe this wasn't such a great idea. Anyway, for now, Delete the zappers in the left side- I'm reworking 16508 at the moment. That it won't be possible for Jack to jump through that area except while on a platform. Do whatever you need to do for the ride to go to completion. It should stop right in front of the locked door on the left side of 16304.

Today I've done almost nothing but make tiny fixes here and there. I've started at the beginning, and have tried to nitpick on everything. I have to admit, that the zapper section slowed me down a little. I had been running with about 15+ Jacks by the time I got there, and it didn't take long to burn through them. Some of it was also me trying weird things, though...

I'm planning on putting out another update tonight, and at least one more tomorrow evening. There are a large number of minor changes.

With the updates tonight and tomorrow, I'll attach my changes in spreadsheet form. If you need a response on something quickly, then go ahead and send it directly to my email for a faster response:  RobSeegel[at]comcast.net.

huh.. just looked at the forum interface and noticed the

does that notify via email? If so, I've enabled it.

Do you mean 15507, here? 15508 doesn't really make sense.

16908  Jack can lean down and get the purple key (by push-ups). If this is what you intended, it's not supposed to be in an included mansion.
Minor sore point here. I *never* deliberately intend for this sort of thing. I even hate this in custom mansions and realize it's not for included mansions, but anyway... In this case, it even looks accidental here, because Jack has free and easy access to the key on the other side (once he disables the zapper) without doing push-ups. The wall just needs to be fixed to prevent Jack from cheating is all.

Also, the lever on the falling skull/moving platform trick isn't good for an included mansion, I don't think.
I don't really agree with this, because I did establish early on that there could be
floating
levers, however I do agree that it's not really obvious where Jack's next move after pulling the lever would be. I think that's problematic here. At the very least I need to make it so that if Jack doesn't jump, then it's not instant death. I'll rework it. I'm slightly concerned about this, because variations of this are used throughout the mansion, and I've seen in at in least one other included mansion. I did devote at least two BBB to specifically cover this topic.

16708  Too hard with all the fast zapper beams. I don't think the zappers here are that difficult. Certainly easier than other sections. They're spaced out, and there's several (6-7) areas where Jack can take a break and consider his next move along the way. He doesn't have to make a mad rush through (though I think it's more fun that way.) In this case, I think it's more a matter of Jack taking a moment, watching where the zappers are and planning his approach before going, and going as slow or fast as he is comfortable with.

Also, Jack can't get down the ladder (bottom right section, 2nd ladder from the right to the left of the spiders) because a tile is blocking his head.
Fixed.

17108  The jump over to the conveyor belts is too long. Also, the left-most lever doesn't do anything.
The jump is possible, and generally not fatal if you miss it, but yes, the jump needs to be absolutely perfect. I'll change it, and fix or remove the lever.

No, it's 15508. Jack was working his way through the room and died in a zapper beam. He reappeared on the first ladder on the left that he goes down when he first enters the room. The silver blocks were on, so he couldn't climb or descend the ladder.
