I've seen multiple lanterns in Leofani and Mt Peril.

Ah, I see. I didn't realize that there was any difference in the sequel in that regard. Thanks for letting me know. Smile

This is probably going to be a
DUH
question but here goes; how do you change between acid, lava and water?

thx

There are two empty custom mansions included with the beta that have the graphics of the lava and water. Acid is the default. if you switch to water, make sure you check off the box that makes the sound of water instead of bubbles within the Mansion Info screen.

You can change between the graphics with Rezilla, or whatever Resource fork editor you use by copy and pasting them with the appropriate ID number.

Vern,

How difficult would it be to make Gravestones and possibly other items act as signs? It might be fun to add a bit of text here and there. Nothing vital, just some flavor for the game.

Ideally, I could add this to several of the sprites:

- Statues
- Paintings
- Gravestones
- Possibly other sprites where it made sense

Ideally, if Jack was in front of one of these items that had text on it, then the item would show a highlight of some kind to let the player know there was something to read.

I know some folks put signs behind the statues to get the same basic effect, but it would be nice to accomplish this without the trickery.

Given that... maybe one way would be to have an additional tag (like T, H, or S) that could be applied to an object to give it that feature. Just a thought...

and perhaps this makes the tag makes a sparkle so the player knows it can be read? A giant brown letter B for the editor as the tag I would suggest, to honour what the signs where called -- BBBs. (Brown Black Boards)?

Well then, I think this would be a very awesome touch to the game, indeed.

So there is still only one
movement
texture that can be in a mansion at one time and the method of changing is the same as always; change the resources. OK

What if I added a checkbox to the signs that allowed them to be invisible? (For an effect that a gravestone, bookcase, or whatever you want *seems* to be readable... and you don't have to hide the signs behind layer 6 items.)

Making the outline of gravestones and such highlight when readable is beyond the scope of what I can invest into a feature like this at this point. But I could consider a different option... maybe making the stats area highlight blue or lighter when you walk in front of something that is readable?
