Hello TRIGGER ISLAND beta testers:

Please note that (MM Exp.) Beta 2 which Vern has released earlier today does oonly include Trigger Island 1.4.8.

I have already uploaded version 1.4.9. in the old (Beta 1) Trigger Island thread below.
Please download it from there and put it into your Beta 2
Custom Mansions
folder, erasing 1.4.8. after succesfully doing so.

Thanks.

Message I promised to pass on:

aquaMat will be away for 2-4 weeks from today and can't answer in the thread. Do report on Trigger Island anyway and aquaMat will take care of it when he is back.

Missy,

Trigger Island 1.4.9 was in the *old* Trigger Island message thread. But to avoid any confusion, I'm uploading it here, to make it easy to find.

Missy, since aquaMat is going to be away so long, I thought I'd answer a couple of these:

12898 - is not a Jack Stuck. There are some slightly darker bricks there that Jack can jump on and get out of there.

14305 - you can get under that first eyeball. You just have to be very careful when you jump on the ledge, and then move fast.

13905 - yes he can get down from there without dying.

That's what I meant - when I said
it is in the old (=Beta 1) T.I. thread
. With
below
I meant that in the Tester's Board the old T.I. thread is below the new (=Beta 2) one.

Well - I guess that below confused some people, but I'd thought it was clear.
BTW - I was confused when I first discovered that there is now a new, second T.I. tester's thread - just because it's Beta 2.
However, this happened only after I uploaded version 1.4.9. to the old T.I. thread.

PS: I'm allowed home for the weekend (from hospital) - that's why I'm posting so soon again.
I saw the zillion of new findings by Missy - I will try, but I'm not sure if I'll have enough time to answer those within this short time period. It might have to wait until I get back for good.....

@ Missy (& other T.I. testers):

Thanks for all your latest reported findings.
Before I'll try to make detailed comments on them, I'd like to say a few general things:

1. Please be assured that all things I put into a mansion DO WORK no matter if you play it in the editor (which I'm not so sure you should be doing anyway) or
in
the game itself (= full screen).
Before I hand out a mansion I have played it thru about 50 times (
from within the game
) and many more times the invidual rooms in the editor.
(Especially this one - as it was my Contest mansion.... and we're talking about a version HIGHER than 1.0 (which was the contest version), meaning I have refined it again and again. Although I'm the first to admit it's still not perfect...).

Here & there there might be a potential JS I might have overseen (due to over-familiarity with my own mansion) etc., but there certainly won't be things which don't work correctly or are completely wrong or something.

(Just one EXAMPLE:  You wrote -
13506 - room below this one.  Bird kills Jack in elevator. It can't be avoided.  Is that what they call a cheap death?

NO - It's not - Cause it can be avoided easily - Jack has to stand on the left side on the elevator platf. and maybe duck a lttle. There's enough time to see it coming)

2. Therefore - as my time is kind of limited at the moment, I'd be glad if you and all other testers could only report an issue after you are absolutely sure that it's not a question of playing skills, or a misunderstanding, or a missed hidden item etc.
Please do rather try everything a couple of times to be absolutely sure before reporting it as an issue or problem.

This way I would have less problems answering the reports in the limited time I have available at the moment.

Thanks a lot & and thanks a lot for playing + liking Trigger Island.   Wink

My appologies,

Hope you get well.  I removed all my posts. I will leave testing your mansions to move qualified persons. Smile

Missy, that was not how I meant it. I think you are just as qualified as anybody else.
I simply preferred if you'd try out a little longer before reporting some of your findings.
Please continue testing TI if you want and feel like it.

Here are my answers to the first part of your findings (I copied them off here earlier today and have answered them now).
Some of them are good examples of what I meant:  (my answers in BOLD black)

13104 - When Jack jumps onto the save (not activating it) & jumps again, he ends up on the ledge above.

That is done on purpose - providing a means for Jack to get back to the middle floor - if he wants.
You/He can go back......  (see below)

13103 - Since Jack landed on the upper ledge in 13104, now he goes back to this room to get down to the save again, but he can't because the grey door won't let him.  It was activated on his way to the save. I did find another way tho & that way too has a hidden grey door blocking access to the save.  2 grey doors blocking the save. There is NO WAY to get to the save now, that I can find.  hmmmm

That is not correct. There is a way to get back to the save pedestal.... You just have to find out HOW.

Gosh, I really hate those coloured blocks, they are just way to fast.
Personally, 2 eyeballs & a moving platform is really overkill.

There are enough (hidden) shields provided for Jack to get thru that bit unharmed.

13102 - Not sure, but the brick on the far left (with the fire, under the statue), with the steps leading to it, well, it looks like a solid brick to explore, but Jack dies.  hmmm
- Also, it would be nice if the moving brick came down low enough for Jack to jump on it from the top of the pyramid rather than having to go all the way around again.  (sorry if this is not a good idea, but I have been going around in circles trying to get to the closed off save area & have lost my bearings.)

No, no no!   First - the thing in front of the fire is just the
cover of the fireplace
and in IMHO one can see very well that this is NOT a solid brick.
Second - it is on purpose that Jack is NOT ABLE to board the platform from
the pyramid
- it simply wouldn't make sense (it's part of the
quiz
& challenge of the room that he has to go thru the different (floor-)levels and finally activates (and boards) the platform from the topmost level. Don't forget - this is a hard mansion...  ;-)

13701 - see pic, Jack exploring again & when he jumps back up from a certain spot in that dug out, he lands on the extremely fast bat brick, tries to jump off and dies. see all the bodies?

Well.....  the far left end is where you activate a
return elevator
in case you need to get back up. Simply avoid it when you don't need to get back up.
(Should you have accidentially activated a return platform, just step off it a.s.a.p. and nobody will get hurt - but the platform travels up
empty
, making room for Jack to pass thru.....)

I simply needed a (secret) spot to allow Jack to activate a return platform. Only thing I could do here - I could make the return platform go slower, so lesser skilled players will have enough time to jump off without dying.

13506 - room below this one.  Bird kills Jack in elevator. It can't be avoided.  Is that what they call a cheap death?

NO - It's not - Cause it can be avoided - Jack has to stand on the left side on the elevator + maybe duck a little. There's enough time to see the bird coming...

14705 - Altho, BB's are not my forte, pls check it out in this room:  Should start with capital You.
Also, I checked the other day for the right spelling for the Bat Mobiel or Mobile.  Seems that the internet has both ways of spelling it.  hmmm

In 14705 there is a BBB - but the word YOU does not appear on it - neither w/ or w/out a capital Y   ;-)
In case you are referring to the BBB in the next room (14704) - the spelling is correct, as the phrase starts with:
Wanderer, you should....
In my understanding of the English (or any other) lamguage, a capital Y would only be required if the word you was the first word of the sentence.

Whaat - who said Bat Mobile? (BTW - I consider Mobile to be the correct way of spelling it) - I had never called them Bat Mobile......  I called them Speed Mobiles.

14705 - I JUST LOVE THAT YOU USED THE BAT MOBIELS INSTEAD OF MAKING JACK WALK.  YEAH!!!

14702 - I know that the BB said not to get off the bat brick, but Jack did and ended up here (see pic) The grey door is a half door.  Now he can't get back down, no bat brick.

WELL - Please follow my instructions on the BBBs. That's why I put them there...
BTW - the grey door is not a half door - it's just small.

In this case I can't help you - you have always suicide as an option !

14105 - Am I missing something?  What is the purpose of the goblin?  Jack can open the grey door himself???

Yes he can, that's right. I was just having a little fun with the small guys.... PLUS in order to help
weaker players
not risk their lives when they go near the new medusa head to activate the white footswitch, I supplied them a helping troll to do it for them.
Do you think it's too confusing??  Then I could erase the helping troll !?
