THE COMPLEX:  Another aquaMat mansion coming soon
#1
Dear friends,

I like to announce that Rose and myself are currently beta-testing my latest creation. During design and testing it used to have the working title
Matt's Maze
, but I plan to release it very soon under the official name of

                                             THE COMPLEX

It is no
real maze
but it is in fact a huge complex of aisles, corridors, tubes and shafts where it is very easy to get lost in.
It also has my usual share of
secret passages
etc., but I consider it to be a little easier than my last few mansions.

What's great about it (I hope): after a pretty linear beginning (on icy mountains) Jack is headin' underground into The Complex, where the player can pretty much decide freely where he wants to go next.

There are
many roads leading to Rome
so to speak, and even the order of the save pedestals is not necessarily fixed.

At times it gets linear again (without really noticing it the player is softly
guided
towards a certain direction, after all) and of course especially near the end.
However, it should provide fun for repeated plays (as I always intend my mansions to do), 'cause there are several hidden things or rooms etc. which probably won't be discovered the first time through.

Another feature that make repeated plays interesting is the fact that every game will be a bit different, as noted above.

There will be more than enough save points and a bit more money as usual to avoid frustration.

Look forward....it won't be long anymore (at least not on my side)...we're currently testing version 0.9.x !

PS: Thanks to Rose for her invaluable help in beta-testing.

Aah, by the way.....

As a little teaser I show a screenshot. This is an overview of only the upper half of THE COMPLEX.

Stay tuned.

Hi aquaMat,

I am sooooo looking forward to another one of your mansions!  They are always great with some hard to find escape passages, new tricks for my Jack to learn, and wonderful, creative graphics!

Thanks so much to You aquaMat, and Your creative genius, and also to Rose for beta testing.

My Jack says;
Yahoo
to You for making us a new playground.   [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

Although me and Jack are still getting a 'stress relief' from OTG's
Torture Chambers
(Luris).......... and I know you guys wonder how this could be, but you don't know how truly Stressful my real 'work day' stuff is!!!!

Thanks so much, and keep up the fantastic stuff we and Jack both  thrive on,

SandyBean [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Wow. Thank you all for those nice, encouraging words !
Makes me very happy !   Smile

BTW: Rose just pointed out that I might be giving away a bit too much with this sreenshot, as it possibly spoils some of the surprises (at least for those who study that shot thoroughly and then manage to remember all the details until the official release !  Wink)

But I doubt that there are too many of you now sitting with a magnifying glass in front of the screen ?!

However, I might replace the screenshot with a less revealing one, later today !

One year I spoiled my own Christmas by snooping into the presents my parents bought. It was the worst Christmas ever- I wasn't getting what I
ordered
AND I knew about it. The gifts weren't bad, just not my first choice (which was probably a pony ;D )

The moral of that story, Grasshoppers? Sometimes the surprize is part of the fun Wink Smile
