MM2 - Brave New World

Please tell me in which room you did pick up the red key.

That is correct. And as you see on the map with the TZ and the 2+2, there are 4 more maps with much more information.

The loop is not a standard kind of area. With what I see on the map I should certainly go for the maps AND gather as many dollars, shields … without opening any coloured door. Then I would have a  better map with much more information about the surrounding rooms.

I first need to know more about the extra red key. Meanwhile I will go to the builder to check things.

Red key issue (probably) solved. Is your Jack still taking the forbidden red key by jumping in room 16098? If so I will hurry to post a zip 003bis wit the earlier mentioned fixings. (The grey area isn’t ready yet to launch zip 004.

You really deserve a very big appologize. On April the 20th I didn't think a single second about the influences on the saves. And thought that I could postpone a post with an update.
:-[

A zip for BNW Rainbow OO3bis is now included. In the newest version of BNW Rainbow, Jack will only have a rainbow key when he arrives for the first time at the sign in room 16700. That should also avoid confusion.

Have a look at the enclosed photo, found in an old box. It shows room 18895 from Falcon Manor easy (HD). I need to be fair; it is the first time that I noticed the word 'OR' on the wall. In the TZ-LOOP area of BNW the situation is the same: open your first coloured door wherever you want and start exploring.

BNW Rainbow 003bis ends, just like 003, in room 18098. See image taken in the builder.

Well, yes, but will a new player that doesn't know the mansion as well as you (and me), do that? Will he or she not just open the first colored door with the rainbow key?

In room 16500, it bothers me a bit when skeletons come alive before Jack can get the rainbow key.  He must then return to the room above and back to disactivate the skeletons.
...
As of now, my Jack has a good overview of the transit zone and some of the blue rooms.  He hasn't opened any door yet and and the gold bricks are on.  It looks like he can start at a few places:
1. Opening the purple door in 17099
2. Opening the purple door in 17300
3. Opening the red door in 16503. Jack knows about the green key in the room below
4. Opening the red door in 16704
5. Opening the yellow door in 16903
6. opening the blue door in 17302 Jack knows about the yellow key in the room to the right.

In the other rooms Jack does not know what will happen if he starts there.  So the choice seems to be between 16503 and 17302.  I do not see any hints as of which one to go for. Can the player assume that both choices are equal?
...
It is possible to miss the purple key in 16502 if Jack leaves the room before taking the key.

17300: My Jack missed a coin but now he cannot go back there because he can't change the red belt direction.

Fixed.

Because of the gold blocks:
2. it is not the purple, but the green door (pic 1);
4. impossible (pic 2).
As planned from the very beginning: 5 different doors with gold on and another 5 with silver on.

I did add a line to the text of the sign in room 16700 (pic 3).

At first I didn’t understand what you tried to tell. It felt obvious that if you miss a key that you don’t have it.
;D
But after opening the room in the builder I realized the seriousness of the issue. This room had the more unusual situation that a key did reveal, but after leaving and re-entering the room was gone and needed reveal again. Not my best idea!
:-[  :-?
The consequence of it is that when Jack leaves the area without the key, that he is back in the transit zone with 'nowhere to go’. There is a (bad) solution: doing the previous area again and doing a better job in room 16502. But since Jack missed the purple key, he probably doesn’t know that there is one. And may bring up the idea of randomly kicking and jumping, what is real horror.
:o
I fixed it this way. In room 16502 it is obliged to take the lantern, because otherwise you can’t leave the area. So I created a link between the lantern and the permanent pop-up of the purple key.
8-) Smile

The promised zip-file for BNW Rainbow 003ter is enclosed.

If you want to see the fixing you need to restart at save 1 in room 16099.

Otherwise you may use any other save that was made before entering room 16502 or 17300.

Enclosed you'll find BNW Rainbow 004.zip. This version ends at the red brick wall in room 17496.

It contains the revised grey area: the capital of BNW with sometimes weird stuff. I hope you like the improvements and the few additions.

Looks like the forum is still active, although not that many different persons Big Grin My kids are playing MM2 right now so there might be a revival, at least if there is a way to port the game to more modern platforms. Perhaps AI could help in the future Big Grin

I'll try downloading this Rainbow castle for them to play
