Good idea Semi Native, I totally agree with you

Since that info is available in the MLB, maybe Vern could put that Mansion Info info on the last screen? It is more fun to have a goal on replay.

Not quite. You can find out the total amount of money lying around in the mansion, but not the max amount of money one can get. In the Normal and Hard versions of my mansion these are a bit different. On the other hand, I tried hard to make the best money score a round number (like 30,000 for, eeer... forgot which one).

Players will make the same complaints about the same issues we find, and you all just keep with this ILLOGICAL THOUGHT OF (oh, what's that word?) DESIGN RIGHTS.

THANK GOD VERN DOES NOT USE THAT LOGIC WHEN HE MARKETS HIS GAMES FOR SALE.  That logic just does not fly in the real business world.

The beta testers rule book should state to ONLY look for Jack Stucks & Layer problems.......all other comments will be ignored due to designers rights, regardless of how nonsensical the play is!

There, I have finally said my piece.....I do not intend to get into a rebuttal over this.

Okay, whoa, let's slow down here.

First, what Anthony said is correct: the designers do listen to ALL input from testers, but that does *not* mean we'll make changes. For example Missy, sometimes you've suggested I change things because they are
too hard
but in reality they are puzzles. For instance, a skeleton in Blackheart Keep that wakes up
too soon
but in reality the player is meant to climb the ladder into the room above, THEN come back and get the gold coins. It's a puzzle, not a bug. But I don't have time to explain every little thing in response.

In any case, I'd rather keep messages like this out of the forums... they tend to create a negative atmosphere, and might come across more harshly than intended. So let's do this instead: please *email me directly* if you feel any sections in the built-in mansions are too hard, or too weird, or anything that shouldn't be in a built-in mansion. I will look into it myself. I haven't had the time to follow all the messages on here, so I've mostly been following the ones for the mansions I've been modifying, meaning I haven't read much of the messages for Toybox's or Anthony's mansions, or Brell's or AquaMat's. I haven't played many of these mansions through to the end either, so there could easily be things in them that I'd consider bad for a standard mansion to contain. So if you feel that's the case, please email me specific room numbers, and I'll look into it.

Also, regarding Anthony's mention of a ban for a day or two: he was apparently referring to the use of God's name in a way the might be offensive to some. I think his mention of the ban might have been bad timing and come across the wrong way. I would support the notion that we should avoid using God's name in a way that might offend some, just as using swearwords might offend others... but yeah, Anthony's timing for mentioning this was probably not the best.

So in recap: if you have anything that you want to post in regards to beta testing that might come across as being harsh to someone, please *email me directly* about it, and I'll handle it personally. Thanks!

I don't know. Maybe it's reserved for some future input? Just a guess.
:-?
Yes, that was the idea, and then nothing ever happened with them. So the field currently does nothing.

I've noticed some behavior I think is odd. I have a trigger that makes a platform appear.  I then ride that platform out of a room, and then back. I hit the trigger again, and suddenly I have two platforms with the same id. Is that correct? I would have thought that I could only have one instance for a given id. In some cases it's forced me to define the trigger so that the id is in there twice: once for defining the object that will appear, and one for defining an object that must not be in the room within that trigger.

I wouldn't expect that I'd need to do that, and worse, because that
rule
can only take one id (not a comma separated list) it prevents me from using it for some other platform id as I think it was intended. Sad

I've had the same issue, solved it in the same way.

Well, being young really has nothing to do with this. I think rationally and correlative. The context in which using
Thank God!
can be mistaken by many people if used in the wrong way. If you use it in Church and something related to God, then it's alright. However, anywhere els, it can be taken by offence to some. (It doesn't terribly bother me, I'm just looking out for my fellow beta testers who could) I guess I could say I overreacted a bit. Sorry.

I'm young, you're old...er. Tongue What's the dif? Also, I'm going to be 17 soon, so I'm getting there. 8-)

Oh noes, I think I'm the youngest Beta Tester...

Anyway, I got the same problem that everyone else had earlier this week but was solved by Rose's post. I hope this doesn't happen in future betas and final releases
