It's not that bad a problem.
My oldest version of MM is 1.0.7., I may try using that one if I find some time. There's nothing really new on the computer (rather, nothing I'm aware of :), but as I said it may be just old age.
Regarding the Map bug: if I remember well, it has happened to me in the Level Builder, but not the proper Game.
