It is possible the sound effects volume balancing is different. i've had to rip out and replace the sound engine several times while developing the HD version (lots of frustrating problems in each!) and they all handle stereo-3D panning of sounds differently. Meaning that, while I've tried to make the HD version as close to the original as possible, it's quite possible things are different. I'm open to suggestions if you think something should be louder or softer.
