No worries, you CAN use the lever jump as long as you are *still* on solid ground immediately after having pulled the lever. The only thing this affects is when the lever is on a gold/silver block, and the gold/silver block you are standing on disappears once you've pulled the lever. In that case, Jack can't jump right after pulling the lever, in built-in mansions. He was never supposed to be able to do this.
