Room 16506
- How could I catch the yellow key in the square?
Looking at the screen, it looks like there may be a few issues.
If you've gotten the purple key, then all the trap doors should all be open. I'll have to check that. Also, I thought that the Eyes would be gone (also from obtaining the purple key) If they've reappeared, that's also an issue, because it will be a cheap death when grabbing the yellow key.
The idea is that there's a blue bat platform in the screen below where the yellow key is. It is activated by a mechanism which is on the same screen, though only accessible later in this area. Activating the platform, then backtracking to where the platform is so you can access the yellow key requires a bit of exploration. It's a different sort of challenge than the other yellow keys in this area.
It's a lot like what Jack had to do to get one of the red key in the last area - just scaled way down.
If Jack go to the right, to room 16307, with a jump is ok but if he walks he fall down and dies.
Heh... the main thing is I never intended for Jack to be so resourceful as to be able to travel to the right from either of those two rooms, so there's a bit of work that needs to be done to make it impossible for Jack to do. The fact that those rooms were left (or made to be open) *was* deliberate, but it was intended for exit purposes (moving from right to left).
I will fix this tonight for sure, and try to put it in the latest update, which will include the new room next to the where the Troll drop is (back in Area 1). The new room is very tame:
* It will be lit up
* Have a sign or two
* A few jumps, and
* a save point that a player can use before going down to where all the Trolls are.
As an aside, I wish I could there were two kinds of save points - one where the user can save AND get the additional lives, and others that are simply locations that the player can come back to.
The intent behind the blocks is intended for two purposes:
* to bring the yellow key to within jumping distance of Jack,
* to try and discourage you from getting back to the area where your Jack is in the image, so guess I need to do a better job there. I definitely underestimated Jack's jumping ability.
