I seem to have discovered a way of getting to the end game without going through the whole middle of the island.  Whilst taking the tour around the periphery on the
batmobile
It was a fairly easy jump over the half door to the left and into 14701 thereby cutting out much of the game.

Jim

Well - you shouldn't do it!!  It's as simple as that.
Why should anyone want to bypass the most interesting part of TRIGGER ISLAND?
Just to get faster to the end?

What's the point?  You'll miss a whole lot of secrets, a whole bunch of money and almost 80% of the excitement.

One other thing:  I said it before, and I just wanted to say it again.....
That door you're talking about is no
HALF-DOOR
- it's just a door that's a bit smaller than usual
. But then I re-checked in the editor - and indeed the upper half of the door has
vanished
.....leaving a gap where indeed it is now possible to hop over.  I don't know when this happened, as I'm absolutely sure that I had originally put both halves of a grey door there. (When I use a half door, which only happens very occasionally, I ALWAYS use just the upper half, always lining it up with layer-4 solid bricks above.)

So I have re-installed the upper half now...... preventing this
jumping-over-thing
....although I still wonder why anyone would want to do it.... !!

Unfortunately - there's another side to the problem, as I have just discovered:
In order to
hide
that grey door from first-time players of this mansion I had to put it as much to the left (inside the red wall) as possible. This was possible only by the aid of the unchecked
align to grid
- feature..... and it seems to be this - more than anything else - is what allows the
hopping-over
bit.....'cause I have found out just now that it's even possible to
walk through
the lower grey door - as if it wasn't there (when riding upward w/ the speed-mobile platform).  This seems to be due to the fact that I put that door there without having it aligned to grid.

So I have to chose:
- Either spoiling the surprise effect of that hidden door opening (by giving away too early that there is a door there at all)....or
- Leaving the
bug
in there and let those few players jump through / over the closed gray door that are crazy enough to try it.... but at least having the door mostly covered.

I would go for the second alternative..... but what is everybody else thinking ??
