All right, I've done Easy and Normal versions so far, and I've just started Hard.
The comments I had on Easy have already been mentioned, and it seems as though they've been taken care of. I wouldn't mind running through Easy again after the changes.

So far from what I've seen, this dungeon skews a bit harder than from the first game. Normal wasn't too bad... I was a little amused that I actually did better my first go around on Normal than I did on Easy.
This may have been because these two dungeons seemed so close - to me, at least. As opposed to the differences I've seen so far between Normal and Hard. There's some pretty drastic differences there!
One thing in the original is that the length of the dungeons appeared to change depending on the difficulty. As I say this, I'm not entirely sure facts are on my side, but that's
how it seemed to me, at least on some of the dungeons. The layouts were always similar enough so that you tell they were the same, but they were different enough so that it felt like a different dungeon. I wonder if some of the screens from Easy could be removed to streamline it a bit.
I think I'm going to take another pass through it to make specific recommendations. Perhaps I'll use MLB to look at it more closely.
Brief thoughts on Normal:
15499 - Was there another way of opening the lower-left door without sacrificing Jack?
This was noted in passing as I was playing through. I didn't spend too much time looking, but if not then I dislike that for normal.
16308 - Was a nice touch ;-) It was an unexpected break in the action.
I had no problem with any of the doors in Normal mode.
