OMG!!! UH DUH!!!! I cannot believe out of the 150 damn times I visited 'that' room and stood on 'that' moving platform - that I didn't do
Also, after I got to the end of this level I realised that I was actually playing level 8 and not 7, which explains why when I was reading posts on this room that some said level 7 and others said level 8. I think the confusion arises because when you open your saved game it says Catacombs 7 and it's not until you get to the end (finally) and you do that precious save that you realise/remember you have actually been playing level 8. I hope that helps other poor confused souls (like me) when they also get stymied by this wee gem of a puzzle!

THAT!!!! I could've sworn I had tried absolutely everything - over and over and yet over again. Isn't hindsight (and a wonderfully coded message) a glorious thing....
