Actually, Jackie, it is perfectly possible to get out of this
(It is possible that it helps, though).
The solution to that room lies in 2 things:
1. Do it as the blind: if one sense fails /in this case because the room is dark) use the other senses more, especially your ears !!
2. Use the right combination of jumps and walking to get higher and higher behind the dark.
And - forget the room next door.... the solution lies ONLY within the dark room !! 8-)
