My mansions
#1
Hi everyone.  I'd like to have some opinions on my idea of the easy/normal/hard areas in my mansions.  Is this something I should keep working on or should I go to another direction?  Anyway, I am now working on a big
mansion
that will not be finished any time soon, and which is not as for now in the e/n/h style although that may change as the building developes.  I wrote
mansion
as this is actually not a mansion.  It will have a storyline with a written introduction and a lot of BBB's.  The idea in general is that Jack has retired and bought himself a big ship.  He hires a skilled and reliable crew and decides to spend the rest of his days sailing the seas.  But, alas, one day he wakes up and there is something strange going on.....

We have seen two kinds of ENH-combinations from you. I prefer the one from Back to Square One. Since in Three Way Mansion one is never able to walk through the whole mansion with one visit.

So what exacly is going on on the ship? Did the crew turn into skull-spiders or what? ;D

That I don't know. Haven't written the story yet! But there seems to be some sort of pirate invasion.

No crew turning into Skull-spiders? Big Grin
How about a BBB beside a cage of Skull-spiders saying,
The Crew - After what we did to them!
;D

Just an idea! Wink

Brell, you sould think about making a sequal to TPI where Jack gets off the ship but finds himself on a deserted island. Just a thought.

Brell:

Back to your initial question that started this thread.

I personally prefer mansions that are in one difficulty degree only, but that's just a matter of taste. I prefer them as they can suit you better, but they of course won't suit everybody. Whereas in a mansion in the E/N/H-style, I usually tend to be bored in the EASY beginning, enjoy the middle and part of the end, but - more often than not - I get stuck somewhere before the end in the very HARD last rooms, without ever finishing it.

Your new story sounds VERY VERY interesting, and I'm looking forward to it.
But one more thing (of personal taste): I don't like it, when there's too many BBBs...as -even when they're funny or essential for the story- they tend to always
break-up
the playing experience. It's too much start-stop-start for my taste.

But I have to admit, that's the same issue why I never liked too many reading boards in museums. As important as that background info may be, it usually detracts me too much from the art itself, so to speak.
