There are 2 kinds of Medusa heads, plus a Ghoul head. Of the 2 medusas:

1) Elizabeth
2) Arthur

Arthur is male, and he dies permanently when kiiled by fire.

I think the problem is that Arthur looks a *lot* like Elizabeth. Maybe his color should be changed, so he is more obviously different? I thought the same thing when I first played this mansion -- I thought Arthur here was Elizabeth.

Since this is a secret area, the hint IS there, but it is small. There is 1 brick missing, and you can see part of the lever's handle through it. I could make it instead show part of the lever that has the round part on top of the handle, but I think this is too obvious.

Vern, when one is playing in fast motion, there really is no time to stop and think is this the male or female. Perhaps a change is now in order? Maybe make them both dead by fire? It sure keeps things simple, especially with all the business of MM2.

Here is a picture showing Elizabeth and Arthur (top 2 images). Pretty similar in color.

On the bottom are 2 color variations I've put together for Arthur. I think I'm going to go with the bottom one. This ought to help make it more clear you can kill this one, while Elizabeth you can't. (permanently that is)

Personally, there is still to much green. The eye can't differentiate when things are going quickly. How about making his face the colour of fire, so that the mind can identify the killing him in fire???

Let's not make it TOO easy. Let's keep one medusa that can come back to life.

I agree, that is why I think that it would be better to have the one that can stay killed, to have the face colour like fire. ???? It would help a lot in telling them apart. There is way to much green or close to green.

But isn't it that way in the original MM? If you're in doubt, you can always peak back into a room to see if they come back.

Truth.....I never, ever could remember which was which. They're both to similar in colour. I just try to avoid them both.
If fire can keep one of them away permanently, then why not make that ones face the colour of fire? Just my opinion.

Unfortunately what you see above is the best I can do for color modifications. I'm not an artist, so all I can do are simple Photoshop modifications. Anything more dramatic than what you see above looks pretty bad.
