Like so many previous custom mansions, also Immortal Ruins has a few nice novelties. As earlier said: windmill-fishbones, a shivering skeleton, ...
But I also saw something else that, strictly seen, is NOT a novelty. In a matter of fact, I already saw it in the very first mansion I ever played: Falcon Manor. But, in Immortal Ruins it has been widely exposed as a new feature by SandyBean.
What am I talking about? Well: TWO kinds of secrets! Like in all other mansions, there is a number of official secrets, that with good play leads to 100 % secrets at the finish. As far as I know, all those secret-areas in IR are hinted, although in a whole variety and sometimes pretty subtile. But besides that, spread over the complete mansion, there are also a lot of hidden coins to be found. So finding all BLUE SECRETS is one thing, but getting the perfect amount of dollars, that is an other job.
Now, what is the importance of that, in my opinion? To begin with, it gives much more exploration fun. In the sense, that although one has finished a mansion with succes (100 %) he/she has more than enough reasons to restart this mansion. But there is also something else, which is only important for the included mansions. To become number 1 on the world high scores list of a mansion, a player would have to do more than only know the trick about cheating with the playingtime!
