Zero, your original file didn't have an extension on it, but I assumed it was an archive anyhow, and tried to treat it as one. I was able to open it and I ended up with a file with underscores for the name and the older icon. That was the file I was able to get into the editor. I think the only step I missed was the full conversion process.
Update: I have a working mansion file now, and sent the modified back to you and to Catwoman, along with an initial set of comments. More coming soon.

Well, Zero must work on the copy you sent to him and not on the one with the wrong resource ID.

I sent the testers a new version today to help them out a bit making it somewhat easier.
(there progress seems to have been slowed seeing as they are stuck right now but all i have to say to them is KEEP LOOKING)

Rob, a spin-off mansion where the player controls the helpful goblin, instead of Jack, sounds awesome! Can't wait to see how this plays out.
