Beta 2 - random "error beep" when changing to full screen or back to window
#1
There's no pattern that I can identify, but occasionally, there's a system
error
beep when I move from FS to window and back again.

I've also had the disappearing words on the Menu screen (I see that's a fix in progress).

The map
swoop
is uneven and sometimes moves fast, then slow; it can be quite disorienting.

I want to add: My keyboard preference isn't sticking. I use the keypad Enter instead of Return; I have to reset it every time I open the game.

Mick - are you playing with Beta2b?

Smile Nope.

Will be soon, I imagine; just downloading it how.

Good reminder (your new thread) to specify version. Thanks.

Mick -- there are a few other menu commands, like Command-D and Command-M. Can you try these various times throughout the game, to see if you can ever get a system beep for them too? Or it *only* happens for Command-F?

As for the map swoop, let me clarify: I'm aware of a problem where, when you push the M key to *show* the map, it first zooms quickly, but then finishes rather slowly on some systems. Is this what you're referring to? If so, I'm aware of it and hope to get it fixed.

However, if you're referring to uneven zooming when *exiting* the map screen, I'm *not* aware of any problems here. Please let me know if you experience any with exiting.

For keyboard preferences not sticking: if you change other key settings (like left or right) do they stick? What if you change other settings, like the checkboxes under Options? Does it remember the settings when you re-open the dialog without quitting? Does it remember your current player when you start up?

The random beep continues with CMD-F for me in the B2 release. There is still no pattern. No other key commands elicit the beep.

The B2 release solved the • keyboad prefs problem, the •disappearing menu words, and •the worst of the uneven menu swoop. The •saved games are now going into the proper App Support folder.

Well done.

I'm glad you're working on the menu swoop. It is still rather disorienting, and causes a delay to my navigating in the map. Smile I'm so impatient.. that 2 seconds feels long. heh.

Mick: could you please verify that these issues have been resolved in Beta3 when you can? I was never able to reproduce the 1st one, and the second one seemed a little subjective to me. I'm just trying to track the various issues, do regression, and ensure nothing reported slips through the cracks.

Thanks!

FYI, I did nothing to fix the
beep
because I don't know what to fix. I can't duplicate it and don't know what would cause it.

The second issue *should* be fixed though, but I haven't been able to confirm it so yeah, if you can check on this when you get back from the Grand Prix Leon, that'd be great. Thanks.

I've experienced neither phenomenon in the Beta 3 version.

So far. 8-)

I've played bits of all the available mansions in the Beta 3.
