I cannot find a lever, door or ladder to get to the center of the room or the vine that leads to the red key. Is this a glitch? If I can download a correction, will I still be able to continue the game from Save #9 to the end?

I don't think there is a glitch. I have played the mansion many times and came through every time. Start from the last saving point and try to find another way or hidden key.

Have you tried playing it in HD? I recall some issues with the levers being buried and non-accessible when it was converted? But that might have been fixed (by me...?  ;D )

Yes but I don't remember any issues. But then again I don't remember many details when I have played a mansion anyway.
