Hello,

(He's going to hate me...)
I'm afraid something's going wrong in JUMP!, between #17098 and #17099...
Coming from bottom-left of #17098, I decided to walk to #17099 and go down to the first floor, without manœuver the lever (1), using the falling platforms on the right of #17099 (see attached pict).
I could pass the grey door (2) without any problem from right to left!!!
But could'nt pass it from left to right afterwards, obliged to press brick-switch (4) for doing this. But door (3) stayed closed and I couldn't climb the extreme-right steps of #17099, making me imprisoned in this corridor.
I already met this kind of problem when designing, when a grey (or so) door is close to the screen boarder. One can pass it in one way but not in reverse...
I am writing this with tons of humility, knowing Aquamat's great talent about designing, and all my gratitude to him for ßtesting my own designing. I checked all sorts, nevertheless I'm afraid I don't make an error...

Hi Surcouf,

No I'm not going to hate you  Wink, because:
I am fully aware of this potential
issue
, however....it isn't an issue really....as from the very first (beta-)release version on I have buolt in a security mechanism that only comes in effect when this happens.

(Actually it's a
bug
in the game, that Jack can pass closed grey doors, if they are designed at the edge of a room.)

Let's say for a second you passed the closed grey door from right to left, as indicated in your image.... now you are on the left side of the closed grey door and you think you can't go back.

This is wrong:  I have built in a hidden floor switch left of the door just for this case. When Jack walks over it, the hidden switch opens all closed grey doors....BUT ONLY if they haven't been opened before.

So a player who's playing as intended (= opening the grey door BEFORE walking thru it, by pulling the lever) he won't even notice the brick switch as it doesn't have any effect for him.

Edit: now I have read your post again, and apparently you are aware of this, but say you couldn't get thru the 2nd grey door.
This is strange.... as far as I remember I have set it so that both grey doors will be opened by the
security switch
.

I have to check again.

Richard, Richard....

I wish I could say I gotta hate you now  Wink ....but it's far worse...
I got to hate myself.
Apparently I made an
update error
somewhere during the final phase of beta-testing....presumably while I continued building + testing while on vacation.

I re-checked....and in fact the brick switch does only open 1 grey door, but then I remembered I did this on purpose (to make it less easy and
force
the player back on the
right path
)....as I have introduced a means to climb back up on those grey blocks at the end of the ground floor in 17099.

However.....since you said you couldn't climb back up there, I checked release version 1.0 and in fact it wasn't there.

Apparently I must have accidentially mixed up versions that got updated and sent to the beta-testers somewhere between 0.9.1 and 0.9.5.....my guess would be that this has to do with the fact I worked on 2 computers on this mansion. 0.9.2 has the changed brick, 1.0 doesn't. Strange....

So you spotted it, well done.

UD of UD 1.1., called 1.2 is now being sent.
Don't find anything else, though  Wink  8-)
