Jackie, can't you go on to the left? If not, did you jump over the two vertical obstacles and thus killed the two uppermost snakes?

OK, I finally got through room 16214 on about the 10th try. I was jumping from an elevator (lift?) block across to the turquoise step and not hitting the top of the first column. Doing it properly opened the door to the left. Live and learn. Thanks!
